NUVO has an interview with Joey Chestnut which claims that "jawthritis" is the reason that Takeru Kobayashi declined to extend his MLE contract.

    The article says Joey has no real competition, and it never once mentioned Matt Stonie.

    It also mentioned what Joey calls “jawsitis”, when referring to the reason why Kobi repeatedly pulled out of contests where Joey was a contestant.

    Jawthritis is probably a fake medical term derived from one of those quack physicians on the discovery channel like the one that examined the expansion of Tim Janus stomach in relation to never feeling full. Is there anyone besides Kobayahsi that suffered from this possible life threatening illness called Jawthritus which is about as deadly as Halitosis ? Ya gotta have a sense of humor .

    Read the article. Anon 138 mentioned it, and nailed it. Joey referenced JAWSitis, not Jawthritis. Its a pun on his name, not Koby’s made up medical condition, which Anon 209 made fun of. Koby is afraid of Joey, no doubt. His jaw never bothers him eating against Pete or other non-Joey eaters.

    Reading comprehension must not be OJ’s strong suit, otherwise he would’ve fixed the headline for this thread. He must be too busy sniffing Seiken’s bicycle seat.

    OJ is a very nice person and does a great job with this site. Where else can you find all eating contests and results and food challenges in one place, along with a forum? Yes, there is an occasional typo or two, but it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. OJ probably works too and is busy!

    I agree with 634 If Seiken was allowed to be the only game in town during the height of twitter FB and social media boom, he would have controlled the CE world in a media sense. Thats why he probably dropped twitter and FB because he had very few followers and noboy seemed to give a crap what he had to say anymore

    Seiken refrains from getting involved with social media. Texting is nothing more than a trap for trouble. Any updates you can visit his website but i dont think there are many . The less involved he is with an organization the less he’s going to promote them Makes sense doesn’t it?

    MLE should start getting nostalgic and realize Seiken put the sport on the map with his indepth coverage of Nathans the MLE circuit and candid interviews with eaters in general . That along with his participation in major league events makes him a sure fire entry into the hall of fame The totally unrehearsed and spontaneous putting it all on the line pickle exhibition at Planet Hollywood in 2006 was more exciting than Hagler vs Tommy Hearns if any of you follow great boxing which i doubt

    Seiken can’t stop talking about the Goldstein’s. His life revolves around insults and life interpretations. A sign of a person with nobody to turn to in life. Santa will be depositing coal in his stocking for Xmas.
