The facebook for Nathan's Famous announces that its original location on Coney Island, site of the annual hot dog eating contest on July 4, suffered severe water damage during Hurricane Sandy and the reopening date is unknown. Nathan's is donating 50,000 hot dogs to the New York City Food Bank.

In honor of the victims of Sandy, Nathans should cancel the July 4 events next year and donate the money.not wasted in that event and donate it to help rebuild Coney Island.i

Why should anybody be FORCED to hand over their winnings? You want to talk about waste, what about the millions of dollars that were wasted on the stupid election advertising?!?
