Oyster Bowl co-favorite has economics Ph. D.
The Oyster Bowl blog lists Barbara Devaney as one of the co-favorites in today’s contest. Devaney took the 2006 contest into overtime after eating a record-tying 83 oysters in 2 minutes. She received a Ph. D. in economics from the University of Michigan and is currently a senior vice president at Mathematica Policy Research, where her specialties are family formation, children’s nutrition and public health programs. A team from Mathematica will be competing in today’s contest.
