Past The Pages on competitive eating
PastThePages.ca has a column about competitive eating in which “Notorious” Bob Shoudt describes his exercise regimen:
“To date I have managed to work my way into being ranked number three in the world without having to train,” said Shoudt.
“Though, I am very active in my personal life. I routinely do a thousand crunches a day and I train three days per week in Krav Maga, a tactical defense martial art. I am also an avid mountain climber.”
Shoudt mentioned practising with the Big Angus burger in an interview on the Krystal Square Off blog.

You have to love eatfeats. OJRifkin isn’t on anyones “side” as it were but rather a true researcher with backup. Yet the reference is to “technique”, so one can quibble a bit or rather might have to define the term training. The photo on the Krystal Square Off Blog is quite revealing though, with Bob’s huge knees a fine counterpoint to Juliet’s petite size and not organic boobs.

Speaking of regimens, did anyone notice at the end of the Boise Man vs. Food during the part where Adam is answering questions, someone asked him how he prepares to eat all that food and he answers “I drink lots of water.”
Until now I wondered if Adam did any sort of “training”, but I think this is the first indication that he does. I mean, I kind of assumed he did some sort of training, but I was never sure. He seems like a good eater, with way more capacity than your average “guy with a big appetite.” I watched the DC episode last night in which he ate the two pound sandwich and drank the 6 pound milkshake (only the third person ever to do that). For me, that was one of his most impressive wins.
