Pat Bertoletti article in Chicago Tribune
There is an article about Pat Bertoletti in the Chicago Tribune.
Bertoletti’s competitive strategy is simple: “I just try to focus and push myself. Every time I’m at a contest, I like to see how far it takes me to get to my breaking point.”
That threshold has become harder to reach since he began eating for sport in 2004 at the suggestion of his sister. He entered a local pizza-eating contest and finished fourth. Bertoletti later registered with the International Federation of Competitive Eating, which regulates the contests for safety.

Thats a nice article. As both and Eater and a Chef, Pat must have a very unique perspective on food. I would have liked to have heard his analysis of textures and flavors and how that might effect CE. I’m also curious if CE has had any effect on his personal preferences for the types of food he enjoys making.
It would be awesome for the MLE to allow someone like Pat to ‘Design’ a multi-staged competition, in much the same way he might choose certain foods for certain courses at a diner. Not only would Pat pick foods, but he would also be responsible for pairing it with a liquid that would compliment it. How much fun would that be? I’d want to make it to the end, just so that I could taste everything!
I’m also alittle disappointed that they edited out the part in which Pat brought the Sexy Back.

thanks to everyone, steakbellie that’s a great idea, I would have to pair one course with coors light of course. Who needs to bring sexy back when you can bring the spacedock back?
