Pat from Moonachie encouraged to do Wing Bowl

In this forum thread for the Opie and Anthony show, Pat (from Moonachie, NJ) Philbin is encouraged by his fans to participate in the Wing Bowl. One fan is apparently not upset about the lack of previous competitors in Wing Bowl 14, for he plans to camp out for tickets starting 24 hours before they go on sale.

If they sell out 1/8 of the arena i will be shocked. The idiot that has decided to camp out for 24 hrs to get a ticket is some sad case. Its quite apparant that the attitude is “one car is enough for Sonya” They screwed up big time. noone else. If they wanted to keep it a Philly thing they should have said so from the get go and not let IFOCE in two years ago.Now the sore losers want to change the rules because El Wingador is retired. Let them sit in their own shit as far as im concerned . Technically i could still attempt to qualify because i never competed but i would get more satisfaction to make a trip to the radio station and bring a bag of what i just mentioned and throw it in their face.

Non-Philly people just don’t get it. It has nothing to do with the eating. It is the atmosphere. Its that same spirit that will have any Philly fan fight anyone that badmouths Philly even when they’re in the bottom of the barrel.

    Horribly Heinous Brian,
I’m sure they will include (at least in your case) anyone who’s even thought about calling in to do a stunt. Your site has attacked them much more than mine ever did.

Please try to enter though, it would be great to see a “Fed” stalwart fail to make the 2nd table against a bunch of local amateurs. That is, if you can actually complete a stunt!

With it being “Virgin” its unlikely to fill the Tower theatre or the Electric Factory. Its a shame they are killing their “Golden Goose”

They might not disclude Moonachie, he’s from the general area isn’t he?! If they are still giving away a car, expect him to jump the bad ship “Fed”.

The Gentleman, cant understand why i am so harsh on the two dimwits that grace the airwaves of Philadelphia every morning. I nearly risked my life driving 3hrs in a monsoon – snowstorm that morning .I really didnt have much interest but they called me at home the day before to make sure i show . For some weird reason it remained dark until almost 3pm that afternoon. Instead of having the common courtesy of greeting me as soon as i walked in, Cataldi gets right on the air and announces”Oh god the most irritating person in competitive eating with the exception of Krazy Kevin has just walked in the studio. Beautiful Brian” . That didnt really bother me . What annoyed me was the fact that he said his grandmother could complete my stunt and his partner Morganti expected me to accomplish this in 48 seconds(cut from 5 minutes) with his bare smelly feet crossed on top of the table. These two clods live across the street from the studio they dont know what its like to drive from ny to philly in tropical storm like conditions. As far as Mr Menchetti’s wingbowl stunts, i believed he failed his first time out then on his second attempt in 2003 ate a bunch of 1/2 inch meatballs to qualify when the only ifoce competition was lerman coondog and krazy kevin and he managed to finish ahead of a pack of limited talent Philadelphia locals. The crusher was 2004 when he qualified with 10 cold big macs in 20 minutes only to be told two days later “youve been banned” . I think id rather fail a wingbowl stunt then shove 10 horrible big macs in my gutt and then be told to take a hike.

Well if a Philly local shows up at DC and kicks some ass maybe the rules will change. Once again remember, the Phillies sell out and those tickets cost a lot more than 5 bucks and there is far less drinking.

I’d like to enter Wing Bowl because it sounds like lots of fun (exept for last year’s tacky treatment of Sonya Thomas) and it’s relatively close to me, the rule change obviously makes it less competitive and more of an “Event” . Without Sonya, Cookie, Badlands, Don Lerman and few others, a win (not to say I’d win, it would be only my 2nd wing contest and I haven’t done the 1rst one yet!) wouldn’t carry the same weight (literaly, hmmpf, err, meh!). Unless there’s an official I.F.O.C.E. boycott (wich I would honor), I plan on entering.

Mr Lerman how many years of grammar school did you finish? Your spelling is absolutely horrendous.

ChowPuppy is at it again! Come on now little puppy, I see what’s going on. Your pitiful organiztaion doesn’t have any contests scheduled and so you have to make up some ridiculous story about another loser, Corndog O’Karmel getting a root canal! Is this all your organization has to offer? Stupid stories about a root canal?? Do you not have any real eating news to report on? Spare us the satire and report on your “organization’s” events. If there are any.

    Danny boy,

I strongly believe “Chowhound” (Chowpuppy is his son) will be adding event(s) shortly. I have no problem w/you poking fun @ Chowhound or Corndog or… I’ll give you one, Lady Jo Menchetti. But, you are either a Shea or associate in disguise or not truly a fan of the ‘sport’ because Coondog had the respect of every eater that was active in the ‘fed’ when he left. & I believe still does.

Lady Jo Menchetti Ha ha ha real funny . I dont find it amusing when someone pokes fun at himself . Let others do the poking then see how it feels. If the mock lady jo menchetti is ok with you then its no real insult . get it JERK!
