Philly.com: Badlands Booker to compete in Camden qualifier
Philly.com has an article about the Camden, NJ and West Chester, PA Nathan’s qualifiers with the following information about the field:
Expect other big-name, gut-throat gorgers to be in West Chester and Camden. Eric “Badlands” Booker, who has recorded hip-hop albums about his eating exploits, will exit retirement to take on the likes of Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston and Micah “Wing Kong” Collins, both of Drexel Hill, as well as Pat “from Moonachie” Philbin, who has qualified for three straight July Fourth finals.
PhillyBurbs blogs reports that Booker will compete in the Camden qualifier (which is not clear in the philly.com article)

We broke ground at Oceanside in 1997 when the entire IFOCE lineup was Beautiful Brian, Eric Booker, Krazy Kev Ed Krachie Mike Devito and a few others . I witnessed history that day June 21 1997 when Eric Booker ate 17 hot dogs and buns beating a bully by the name of Peter Lind Jr. I was hoping the big guy would sit it out the following year but shows up late as always and kicks the bully’s ass for good in the rematch . George Shea announced him as ” The “late” Eric Booker. In 1999 he shows up at Oceanside in the pouring rain one minute before post time and loses to first timer Leon Justice Feingold. And then in 2000 at Belmont Park we thought for sure Booker wasnt showing but guess who runs past the paddock gate totally out of breath with 30 seconds left till Nathans post time? You got it the one and only Badlands. I was at the Bens matzah ball qualifier at Baldwin in 2003 when Joe Menchetti offered Badlands two plane tickets to the Bahamas if he would turn around and go home after showing up just before the 7pm deadline . Good luck big guy im rooting for you in 2008 . Good to have you back in action
