Big deal. So 6 people in each bracket who don’t get invited automatically will have to compete for a seat.

What about the 17 other males and 17 other females?
Less then 3 weeks to prepare ..

So will there be 20 competitors. Don’t have 20 women with contracts, I think.

From OJ’s previous post:
“NY1 reports that Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest will return to its traditional location outside the original Coney Island restaurant on July 4. 16 men and 12 women are expected to compete; the only named expected entrants in the article are Joey Chestnut, Miki Sudo and Michelle Lesco.”
So these qualifiers will fill 6 seats on each side, which means 9 men and 4 women will be “invited”.

@12:22 No, the top 10 men and top 6 women will receive invitations, and then 6 more of each from the two qualifiers will receive invitations.

16 men – Joey = 15 – 6 = 9.
12 women – Miki – Michelle = 10 – 6 = 4.
Previous champions always get a seat.
If Matt competes, which I doubt, only 8 men will be invited.

What’s the word on Stonie , is he taking a extended leave of absence from competitive eating.

@2:42 Joey and Matt are receiving invitations too. They’re defending champions, yes, and they’re returning as invitees.

@2:42
You don’t subtract the previous champions from the invitation list just bc they’re previous champions. Those are still invitations

Nick thinks he can beat chestnut at hot dogs. Can’t even beat Geoff. Probably won’t beat deep dish
