The Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship announces the roster of professional competitors. Expected entrants in the IFOCE top 10 are Bob Shoudt, Sonya Thomas, Erik Denmark, Tim Brown and Matt Stonie. Stephanie Torres and Michelle Lesco are also listed which gives the contest 3 of the top 4 finishers in the Nathan's womens division.

    Their roster incorrectly lists Stephanie and Michelle as tying 4th place at Nathans. Steph had 3rd; Michelle 4th – no tie.

    Does anyone know how many the 2010 amatuer winner ate? That’s cool the amateur winner eats with the pros this year. Great way to bring up new talent and they are usually reside from the local areas of the contest to raise the crowd interest. They should do that more often with other contests. I think Stonie’s going to surprise, but I like Sonya in this one. But she and Stonie better be ahead of Bob by good margin in the closing seconds. Bob’s bigger intake capacity all at once can really pack in a ton at the end of the contest.

    First I was said to be tied for 2nd that didnt come true, now Im tied for 4th that isnt true… what happend to third!? OH right, that’s where I stand =P hehe … WELL, I am looking forward to SoCal again, seeing my SoCal friends!!! This will be a tough contest with plenty of great eaters on the line, Though I probably won’t place, it will be fun none the less.     Looking forward to seeing new to the scene and highly talented X-ST. The listing specifically says “partial” entrants, meaning not all, an incomplete list. They can easily correct the mistakes about placement in Nathan’s if someone tells them. Or just show them at the table and then have them correct it.

Seiken from what i was told, registered at the very beginning of the process and confirmed he was coming barring an emergency so there is no excuse for him not to be included in the original roster. Oversite? I doubt it . They pulled the same crap on him with corned beef and cheesesteak. His name means sh– to MLE after 14yrs of service. More head games more lies as usual

    I agree with 10:24 . That is downright cold. Seiken remained loyal to them for years resisting temptation to go elsewhere. I wouldnt even bother making an issue with MLE about it. If he says he is confirmed and his name is not on the roster he should screw them good and not show up at all

If you have been following the sport closely which obviously you have not , there are younger and better eaters out there since 2006 which explains why my totals havent been up to par. in recent years. When i competed with eaters that were within striking distance i was able to hold my own. Check eatfeats database . Aside from the millions of question marks associated with eaters stats, there is some validity to it. Unless you are one of the big names in MLE , then shut your mouth or take me on one on one in your choice of food. Better yet just show up with bandages covering your entire face and head so you can still keep your stature as the anonymous dick that gets a kick out of slamming me every chance he gets

    One of the highest insults bestowed upon someone is leaving their name off the roster. Basically telling them you know what? you are a non entity to this event be grateful you were confirmed and leave it at that. You will be able to compete but no guarantee that there is a spot at the table meaning that you might have to sit on the floor with your dumpling plates and eat them that way

    Seiken really does his very best to take down almost everyone in his own organization, sneaking in anonymous comments that many of us eaters understand. He makes demands to be paid, to be compensated, to get media opportunities. Read his blog, I no longer do. How many many many times has he said bad things about everything…..MLE, Sheas, particular eaters, particular sponsors. He attacks Janus and others and I assure you that he gets almost nothing from the so called horses mouth because almost everyone in MLE would not give him one shred of information for him to distort and then throw back in someone’s face. It is always the same old song with him, if he doesn’t like what someone writes, they are an asshole and worse but he wants, wants, wants. 14 years, yes he was once the only website about competitive eating and got away with a lot of shit then. Times have changed. If he just printed whatever and didn’t keep complaining here or elsewhere and trying to take down eaters in every organization, that would be one thing. But can you believe it? He wants extra credit or credit or actually more than other eaters get. There is no way to reason with him ever. We are polite to him at contests just to avoid his bullshit which will get printed anyway so what is the point. For any one who has no idea what this is about, just go to his website, it will all be crystal clear.

    It’s always the same rant, the same twisted logic (if you can call it that), same someone out to get you. Let’s try one more time – dude, it’s not about you. This thread is about a gyoza eating contest. You have a freaking website if you need to zerk out. Why not do it there? This is a second-rate site-you’ve told us that a thousand times.

    There are a bunch of great (some of the best) eaters that have nasty comments posted about them here. I don’t think even one ever bothers to respond. They know it’s what it is. They have lives outside of CE, and probably couldn’t care less what anyone says. None of them has been around for “14 years of service,” but they somehow still “get it.”

    I can’t imagine how nuts it would be if someone like Furious Pete, Boone, Juliet, Koby, etc. felt the need to “express” themselves here every time some jerk said something stupid about them. Regardless of how you feel about any of them, they’re generally smart enough to let “stupid is as stupid does,” go about their business, and cash their checks.

    What’s the problem – no checks? Didn’t your pal Koby go over that part with you? I thought he helped you smarten up.

    Sonya might have some problems with Stonie but she is a savvy veteran that knows how to win She wont beat him by much but its the win that counts. Stephanie might surprise everyone with a late surge for 3rd . You cant count out some of these guys that have the experience from the last two contests . Hopefully i will try to make it out there. I have never hitched a ride with anyone.and the majority of contests I register for I SHOW Up. I have invested plenty of cash in traveling expenses over the years and if for some reason I couldn’t make it I has a damn good reason for it.As for the local shit don’t even go there .
