Queens, NY dumpling contest August 5

So it’s only in the interest of each borough having its own event that we bring you this next story- the 4th Annual Dumpling Eating Contest, taking place on Sunday August 5th as part of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing. For all of those who watched Joey Chestnut eat 66 weenies last week and exclaimed, “Hell, I can do that,” here’s your chance: the Dumpling Eating Contest is accepting registrants until the end of the month.
The contest is two minutes long with prizes of $1000, $500 and $300. Last year’s festival had separate contests for men and women with equivalent prize money for both genders.

I will be there to win for the 3rd year in a row.
I strongly encourage EVERYONE to come & try to beat me.
If I have Goose, Chestnut or Kobe against me, i’m confident I can do more than 60 in 2 minutes.
Just as I was pushed to shatter my Caribbean Food Delights Beef Patty eating record by Goose last week. (14 in 3:35. Old record was 11.75 in 5 minutes)
Unfortunately, I don’t expect to see Kobe or Chestnut, but i’m hopefull Goose Gilbert comes, so I can take the series lead 3 to 2.

Carey,
I’ll be away this weekend, so i’ll hand you two events that I won last year that I won’t be able to make. Suicide Wings in Dewey Beach, DE for $500. (but I believe Ian’s going) & another Wing Eating contest at Sailfest in New London, Ct (Last year the prize was a Trek Mountain bike) both are on the 15th.
I’m also highly unlikely to make the eatorf contest on the 20th, though I may fork over the $8. just cuz I want a S/WB Yankees hat.

MLE Eater, you can only sign up for contests that are sanctioned by the IFOCE, which you will find on their website.

All eaters are allowed — and encouraged. If anyone has an issue with that, that’s their problem. Unless MLE is paying you a lot more than $1000, why wouldn’t you do it?
