Going.com lists Tim "Eater X" Janus, Crazy Legs Conti and Eric "Badlands" Booker as entrants in Thursday's Slammin' Salmon Chowder Eating Contest. Bob Shoudt has also been announced as a competitor. Amateurs will be selected to compete at the contest site.

    The IFOCE is so fortunate to have all the best media people right there in NYC. As a bonus they can also eat! It doesn’t get any bettet than that.

    Thats Bullshit ! Whoever runs the show decides his supporting cast. George Shea made the call and he picked his favorites. Case Closed. This has been going on for the longest so wake up and smell the aroma

    When we talk locals it is about new york , not philly not boston not whatever. Anyone that does not live in NYC and was not invited should not be insulted because many good eaters were left off the boat. Point being, if they invite Barlow to all Atlanta events BB should be invited also. Nothing to do with eating ability

    Anonymous, 11:04 on this and the Cake Boss matter, if you are not insulted, then you are probably not an eater, or you may be one of the “chosen” who gets to do all this stuff. If you are an eater, and not one of the “chosen”, then you are stupid for not being even slightly pissed off about this baloney.

    Say what, i am pissed off but not because of my eating ability or my value to the media . I was slightly pissed because there are 5 NY or NYC locals left in the IFOCE. Conti, Janus Booker, Shredder and myself. 4 out of five were chosen. I was the odd man out. Now if you want to make the argument. Well Brian we only chose 4 locals and one top 10 eater outside of NY. Why not 5 locals . Will one more hurt? Im not going to buy that crap It’s more about not being included for various reasons. Im not well liked and not percieved in the eyes of the IFOCE as a media talent. I think they see me more as an aging character trying to mooch his way into the limelight while his good days died with disco and Sat night fever. Never mind the fact that i wrote my own lyrics and sung and played several instruments for all the tracks to stick to blogging. Recorded 26 CE talk shows on the internet and appeared on several CE documentaries as an analyst. Personally i dont believe i was ever considered for chowder to begin with. Anonymous, before you jump on the keypad and call me a crybaby, sicko , and whatever else you can conjure up so others wont visit my website, here is something to consider. First off to answer nuns question. What a name you picked by the way. lol. Last i checked i am not from Atlanta. When its by invite only in vegas, you go with Toro Lefevre and Koch, Koch & Lefevre for eating , Toro for the entertaimnent. When its invite only in Atlanta you go with Barlow. Toro and Barlow are talented and colorful but not the greatest in food consumption. However common courtesy is applied towards both whenever there is a vegas event or an event in GA. I am certainly not jealous of Toro. He is the last one i am envious of. Matter of fact i want to see him succeed. They would actually be doing me a favor by offering him more media spots because he was my sidekick during the BB corner heyday. To silence the majority of you that feel i have this obsessive jealousy when it comes to Conti and Janus that is far from the truth. A few years ago i posted what CLC jokeingly referred to as my “State of disunion address” I dressed in a three piece suit and layed out my gripes with the IFOCE on video. Most people found it more humorous than offensive including the Sheas. At the time i wasnt yet tagged Bitter Brian. In the video i brought up the fact that Conti receives more media exposure than others which would lead many to believe especially Conti, that i was the anonymous Conti Janus heckler . On occasion i have taken jabs at both. I dont hate either of them. I might be envious at times but i certainly dont despise them. As far as the media exposure, without taking personal digs on either i will make comparsions using baseball and music even though the names might be considered old school . Would you enjoy watching Tom Seaver pitch every game of a 4 game series? Dont you think he just might burn his arm out after his second outing ? How many times can you play “I wanna hold your hand” “Houndog” and “Billie Jean” before the needle on the record player becomes wilted or you get tired of listening to those hit songs ? George and Rich dont see it that way. Conti and Janus represent convienience more than anything. Yes they are unique and yes they are intelligent but when you make the argument ” Well i would use them for all my media coverage” How do you think that makes others feel Rhonda?? Maybe the others are too bashful to admit it but its the truth and i am one of them. I think in all fairness they could throw me a bone every now and then or maybe do the same for others. . I dont ask for much.. Some of you wonder why Pat Philbin got nothing more than a cameo. I think the O&A and the baby bird video have somethng to do with it. Just my opinion . I could be wrong. When a sponsor calls Shea communications with an opening for a televison spot on TLC or MTV or blah blah ,the names Conti and Janus are the first and probably the only ones considered. Since most of these gigs are in the NY metropolitan area they save money right off the bat not having to fly them out to another state. . They hesitate on choosing an out of town eater with some media credibility because its going to cost someone some bucks to get them over here. Someone posed a question earlier would both of them be upset if others were chosen as media reps for the IFOCE . The answer in my estimated opinion is yes and no. No to Janus. I dont think its a big deal or a priority to Janus . . They sought him out and not the other way around. I just cant picture Janus begging the Sheas for media gigs. They call him with an offer . He says ok and thats that . With Conti i think he sells himself and does a good job at it . He is trying to further his career as a writer more than anything else. His hits far outweigh his misses but i think he’s had his share of dissapointments like everyone else. .Some of what i stated is true . Some of what i stated is speculation. I dont think i an that far off. Lastly , if i ran the show i would not use Conti and Janus continuously at all costs unless the sponsor insisted on both or a potential money deal was set to go down the toilet without their participation. I would alternate between Conti ,Janus Toro ,Philbin, Myself, Barlow, US Male, Davekos Booker, Koch ,Rick the manager not in any necessary order of teams. The names i just mentioned are made to order for the camera. Most if not all are gifted in natural talent and thats the story in a nutshell. Hope some of you see it my way.

    Brilliant deduction. May the power of christ compel you. For the lord is our savior . To clarify what i believe was a reply stated by the prophet Chap 7 psalm page 10:12 pm, is that the person or persons i was refering to is not only set in their ways but stubborn , self centered, refusal to make changes or see or consider someone else’s viewpoint. and my attempt in trying to make light of the situation is like beating against a dead horse. Nothing will ever be accomplished and i basically wasted 10 minutes of precious time on my keypad typing a bunch of jibberish that falls totally on deaf ears.
