Sonya appears in Ripley’s book

From a Ken Wong email about Ripley’s Believe It or Not! The Remarkable Revealed

I have seen two piles of the book at a Vancouver Chapters bookstore. I saw Sonya Thomas by flipping through it and seeing page 159 at which I stopped to make notes. I did not have time yesterday to look for any other eating feats mentioned. I will not pay $34.95 for it.

Wake-up wake-up Rhonda. Where are you? She is truly unbelievable.

    Congratulations Sonya on your double-whammy.

I agree Rona. Women like Sonya come around but once in a generation at most — if that. That does not mean that there aren’t other truly outstanding female eaters. Just look at Juliet and Carlene LeFevre, for example. They are trememdous with a capital “T.”

One person’s greatness does not detract from another’s outstanding stature, and for a female to be among the top 20 or 25 in the entire world is astonishing, especially with the level of talent on the global stage in this day and time.

May Juliet know and remember that! At this time the word “retirement” should not even be in her vocabulary. Good luck to the talented Ms Canady.

I noticed that Sonya discontinued her Guest Book. That’s a shame and I bet I know why. There are some ignoramuses out there who have nothing better to do than post ridiculous, stupid, hurtful, degrading comments.

I’d like to be alone in a locked room with such a person for a mere 5 minutes (with an equalizer present, of course, like a frying pan or a baseball bat)!
