Speedeat reports that Tim Janus breaks Corner Bar chili dog record

speedeat.com reports that Tim Janus broke the Rockford (Michigan) Corner Bar chili dog record by consuming 43.5 chili dogs in 4 hours. If correct, this is the first time in almost a quarter century that a male eater has been the chili dog champion (Sharon Scholten ate 42.5 hot dogs in 1982 and Baldina Gould consumed 43 last December). The $500 bounty for breaking that record is no longer offered.

Congratulations Tim! It seems to be that breaking the Doodle challenge has inspired you to continue breaking eating challenges, that’s great! In my very humble personal opinion, speed eating is amazing and you have to really know how to swallow and keep it down without losing your pace which demands a lot of mental and physical control and ability but longer time challenges are more an endurance and resistance thing, it is like comparing the 100mts with the marathon. By the way, I would be going in July to USA so having some eating challenges or short time contests with you gys would be great, I don’t care how good or bad I am, the thing is to have a great with people I have admired for years now.

    Thank you very much

    Alex
