V-Man, huh? After a visit to the magazine’s website, something tells me the “V” in VMAN is not-so-subtle irony. Koby’s picture of him flashing the thumbs up while his mouth is stuffed with hot dogs only adds to the hilarity. Yikes.

Kobayashi is exploring and could have modeling opportunities, commercial opportunities, many other things. His horizons are enlarging, he is not limited by his stomach capacity. And I think he understands and can speak far more English than most people realize. The press shows him with an interpreter, and for detailed situations, she is needed, but not always. I think he is pretty happy with his independent life.

Looks like Kobay’s jaw is doing much better from the looks of that picture. The article says he won Nathans Coney Island in 2011 with 50 dogs in 12 minutes. Good editing

May I never be caught off guard (or even prepared) with bunless dogs in my mouth. I’ve never been comfortable with things of that shape close to my head.
As such, I’ve always refused mics during speaking engagements.

Rhonda always catches me off-guard when I read comments like the one above, only because there are probably still some people who think or are convinced that I am Rhonda. Could not be more mistaken. I laugh along with the ladies, hooray for Larellmarie, but I am, at least by numbers, a Senior Citizen. Rhonda’s a crack-up for sure.

Rona you’re too fine a person to have (or at least convey) a warped mind like mine. For anybody to accuse us of being one and the same is almost beyond belief. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you!
Larellmarie, I’m glad you got a kick out of that (most of which is true). I enjoy reading your posts. May we all continue to have fun with/in CE. 🙂

VMAN, V magazine are both sister mags to Visionaire – literally the most infamous and respected magazine of art and fashion.. seriously Kobayashi is in the market. He obviously has what it takes to be a star ultimately, without even the eating part. He was a star in Japan.. still is, breaks records all over the world, gets arrested, and now finally is being photographed by Terry Richardson in VMAN. That is insanely fabulous. I’m sorry but, Kobayashi is just the man. Sports, Art, Culture, Fashion… gagging.

Kobayashi continues to be enormously popular in Japan and is the most recognized of all competitive eaters of all time. His only losses in Japan were to Shirota.
