Torontoist has a blog entry about "Furious" Pete Czerwinski's attempt to eat 15 pounds of poutine on the Dean Blundell Show this morning. Pete ate about 10 pounds before receiving assistance. A video of the stunt is also available. Smoke's Poutinerie, which held a MLE poutine contest earlier this year, was the sponsor of the stunt.

This guy got people to buy his story by promoting himself as a guy who suffered a terrible illneses, ate some food in his kitchen, and proclaimed himself the best eater in the world. Dissing a lot of real eaters in the process. After getting his butt kicked by Kobi in his first competition against a real eater, that story got played, now Pete’s trying gain sympathy by eating for his mother’s illness? That’s just sad, not only for the people who bought his crap, but those who suffer from his mother’s illness. Please go away. He couldn’t even meet the challenge he set himself. Any top eater can eat way over 10 pounds but would never do a challenge for a charity if they couldn’t back it up. So who gets a free tee shirt from Pete? Weightlifters are badasses, and support there own, but you guys have to admit that this is embarrasing.

ARE YOU STUPID??????????????? ARE. YOU. STUPID.
You are COMPLETELY missing the entire purpose of this eating stunt.
It was for charity. CHARITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Who gives a **** if he finishes or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re an idiot for trying to criticize him for not finishing. Congratulations on embarrassing YOURSELF buddy!!!! Have a heart and realize it was done for a good cause, something his mother suffers with every day of her LIFE. He did this for her. Not you. Or anyone else remotely similar to you and your stupid opinions.

Charliton sounds like the person that slams brian seiken all the time whenever brian bitches about something. What kind of cold hearted fucks frequent this site? That remark tops the cake. Don’t bring up his mothers illness that is not right at all. I honestly dont remember Pete ever saying anything bad about other competitive eaters except for Brad because Brad was running his mouth after the meatball contest about how great he is and how Pete never really beat him.. Matter fact Brad pulled the same shit with Bob Shoudt when he was an IFOCE member . After Shoudt annihilated him in some contest , Brad tells him “I beat you” Beat what? Your meat ???

Another lame stunt by a mediocre eater using the guise of charity to do his endless self-promotion. If it were all about the charity, the poutine sponsor wouldn’t have to have been all over it. Where was the MS Society during all this amazing altruism? Nowhere – they didn’t know about it because it wasn’t about them, MS awareness, or anything other than Pete shamelessly promoting Pete and trying to call it something else so it looks noble. If you want to help the cause dude, go do some volunteer work without a video camera.

I admire Pete. He’s his own man and one of the best speedeaters in the world!
It’s too bad people lash out at others they are either jealous of or intimidated by.
Giving the man credit is a step toward feeling better about yourself!

I agree with charlatin, the problem is that if you set 15lbs is because you know you are going to eat it, it is better to set 10 and if you can eat more then you go on to 11 or 12, second big mistake, who is handling this guy’s career? oh it is not IFOCE, true

Oh and I forgot, he was going to give a free t-shirt to the person who guess the most accurate time for his 15lbs pounds feat
I am wondering now who won that t-shirt when he only ate 10lbs?

teashirts are bullshit all they do is lie around and collect body odor. Give me a burger coupon over that anytime. BTW comments like charlatim and charlatan are what make this site interesting . Boring kiss ass comments from Obi Wing SPBB and a few others make this site a bore.

Everyone who made a guess should get a T-shirt(there’s only one dunce who misspells that-guess who) if they agree to do something for the cause. It’s amazing how much negativity there is toward a guy like Pete who has only done good things for CE & has never said a bad word about anyone.Save your venom, people for someone who really deserves it.

Meatus wanted to eat for his own cause. Pete didn’t ask for help.
