My dream is to watch Joey Chestnut eat all by himself at the table while one by one every major league eater drops out after finally coming to their senses realizing that hes the only eater in the organization who taking most of the prize money and he’s the only eater in the organization drawing a comfortable salary in the organization. But sooner or later all things come to an end when the table is empty. “Sorry Joey we can’t pay you any longer your on your own from now on”

Dream on. That will never ever happen. Joey has Kobayashi to thank for his individualized contract. I do agree that he (Joey) is risking his health by overeating what he eats. He will have to retire at some point.

Some of these competitive eaters think they are immune to same diseases that strike obese eaters . Not the case at all. They think if they eat healthy lift weights and look good cosmetically on the outside , god will take care of them. As long as they compete at the table sooner or later the same health issues that plague the obese will plague them too. Give it up it aint worth destroying yourself.

Ironic that when a competitive eater passes away the cause of death is never mentioned and it remains a mystery unless it actually happens at a contest because there you cant hide fact .

I disagree. The only eater whose cause of death was not explained was Juliet Lee.

Competitive eating might contribute to long term health problems which could lead to premature death but it won’t be considered the primary cause in most cases. If someone dies immediately after doing an eating stunt (such as in Juliet’s case) it can be directly contributed to eating. It is certainly a risky endeavor and anyone who thinks they are immune to such an occurrence is a fool. Just don’t be too shocked if another tragedy occurs in the near future especially with eaters who are training so hard to double or even triple their natural capacity.

Mukbangs and their creators are gonna carry on, regardless. If you place limits on something that is in demand, guess what- it is still in demand and it allows other outlets to take advantage of the demand. No one is immune to any disease, competing eater or not. It’s worth it, if it is something you want to do. Everything is dangerous in some aspects. What are you gonna do be someone who doesn’t take any risks? Live a safe life without any risks, see how fulfilled you are.

It still hasn’t been confirmed how Juliet died but its a fact that she was making eating videos for MLE and the videos are still posted on their site. It was mentioned that the accident occurred at home but aside from an accidental fire or falling off a ladder i cant see her cause of death attributed to anything but an eating stunt gone bad

Barry, Erik is not a snob. Have you ever spoken to the guy? He’s super sweet and helps out other YouTubers.
