Two Tims expected in Hartford

The East Hartford Gazette has a preview of the May 19 Nathan’s qualifier. Tim Janus and Tim Brown are expected entrants.

    30,000 people can not see the stage. 10,000, maybe.

    Actually, I got there at 8am last year and was standing in the FRONT ROW (to the left of the stage) and I still only caught occasional glimpses of the action over the small group of VIPs and the massive media platform. Definitely a better event to watch on TV…although there is something to be said about experiencing it at least once in person.

    But I’ll probably go back this year and do it again.

    It was even spotty from the press stand. The person with the best view was the ESPN dude on the crane, who even then kept trying to insist everyone on the stand sit down during the competition (yeah, sure). Although, you don’t really get the sweaty feel and smell of Coney Island from home.

    Janus will eat at least 30. Badlands will be there to perform some hip hop as well. Nathan’s should get some Jumbotrons for the eating fans in the back.

    Let me add that most men should be able to eat at least 40 or mor. I mean even a girl can eat in the mid thirties and Lee can probably eat three dozen.

    No top eater eats less than 40 these days. If they do they are independent material.Thts why there should be no more than 4 people in the IFOCE. Everyone else is along for the ride.

    Tim Brown is an eater who seems to average about 25 dogs a go in a couple of qualifiers…
