Unregistered commenting restriction implemented

There was a recent desire for more innovation on eatfeats in an anonymous comment. To satisfy that request, a change in unregistered commenting policy was implemented over the weekend. Over half of the problematic unregistered comments have originated from one ISP. Users on that network who have not logged in now no longer receive a comment form. Unregistered commenting for additional ISPs can be disabled as needed.

Apologies to the legitimate unregistered commenters of that ISP.

In order to get something you want sometimes you have to give up something in return. . In this case he is sacrificing quantity for quality . In the long run its the right move. At least now its more of a group session with real faces that you can attach to real people. I personaly feel comfortable responding to a Jum Reeves or Landrich than someone that posts under anonymous . . Rhonda Evans no offense, but even though you possess a great deal of incite about CE and the eaters involved, you are still considered anonymous in my book. When this site first came on the scene a vast majority of IFOCE members including the elite, posted under their real names. If OJ Rifkin keeps this log in format by shutting out the anonymous assholes and replacing them with quality conversation, then the anonymous haters would not only be unwelcome but chased away for good. Eventually the top eaters will post again but it will take time and he cannot switch back and forth with the registration process like he used to. The reason i acted the way i did was because i felt he was condoning or allowing this behavior to continue while enjoying every minute of it. And it wasnt just about me. The comments about Sonya & Juliet were horrific to say the least. Mind you these hateful remarks were nothng new . The Sonya & Juliet bashing had been going on for quite some time. It was almost comparable to Jackie Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson became the brunt of ridicule and racism and it wasnt until other african american ballplayers came along that they looked for someone else to pick on. Same applied to Sonya. The crowd in Philly Wingbowl taunted her with ethnic and sexist slurs while throwing tampons at her . To make matters worse she got more of the same by cyber bullies on this very site. It wasnt until another asian female came along which took the heat off Sonya but applied the same if not worse to Juliet. Not to mention some of the remarks about Humble Bob which were down right brutal after he beat Sonya in a controverial call in Meatballs 2006. . Mind you there were some that deserved everything that was coming to them like Pete Miernicki and Carey Poehlmann. Poehlman was an obnoxious ass that thought he knew everything while getting his jollies off thinking he could outsmart others by debating with them.He would insult me left and right but at least i knew who i was dealiing with. He was eventually outnumbered and never posted under his real name again? Maybe not. I have my suspicions he just couldnt resist and resurfaced as one of my anonymous nemisis that is responsible for the infamous 6 to ten word sentences insulting my integrity. . How can we forget Pete Stinky Miernkcki who proclaimed on this very site that the day he became a ranked IFOCE member was the proudest moment of his entire life and i ruined his great day by questioning his debut at #37. To add insult to injury the disrespectful liitle punk had the audacity to state that he could whip my ass in any food category especially hot dogs. As time went by his stats continued to stink up the joint and he finally came to realize that he was a failure in his attempt to become the next Joey Chestnut. He began setting his sails upon Brad Sciullo because they shared the same birth year. Unfortunatly when he realized that that was about all they shared he gave up the sport altogether I used to like the kid and truly felt sorry for him but after his relentless bashing of my eating ability, i stopped feeling sorry for him and welcomed the floodgate of anonymous haters that unleashed a barrage of anti mierniki insults the likes of which you had never seen on any website. . To this day mierniki bashing is still popular even on a limited basis even though he ceased posting a long time ago. He too might have reincarnated as one of the anomymous suspects looking for revenge (especially on me) after all these months. For the first time in 3years i can safely admit that i enjoy posting on here and hope that others feel the same

Here is where the problems start. There is always one or two that are able to sneak in as anomymous posters. Without using vulgarity or harsh words, mind your own business. If Rifkin allows a two to three page post then so be it. If i want to insult someone without using foul language then so be it. If it annoys you then too bad. And two more things, i never implied this was my website and i thought anonymous posters were not allowed anymore. I see the same crap starting up once again. Never ceases to amaze me

One more thing i may add, for those of you anonymous asses whose anti BB comments are getting rejected as we speak, and consider my site a junkyard automobile as opposed to a “Rolls Royce”, i think its a known fact that when i attend or compete in a contest , you get the most bang for your buck as far as indepth news coverage and interviews. If i attended every IFOCE event you would think twice about calling me site a “Yugo” . Ask the loyal fans from yesteryear and they will agree. When the sources are obtained from the horses mouth it certainly adds alot more dimension than ESPN and youtube links if you get my drift.

Its true. She was blasted left and right on this site the same way Jackie Robinson was tormented. It wasnt until Roy Campanella came along which took the heat off him the same way Juliet’s presence took the heat off Sonya. I think my comparsion is a vaild one

I just dont think Sonya feared for her life when eating. A few jerk offs in philly is not the same as the real threat of violence jackie robinson confronted. Hey Sonay is the bee’s kness as the kids say. She is the best and most respected female eater out there. I would say there is only one other female eater out there that has the same respect and love of the eaters and she does not compete any more.

Hey BB your site is not as good as this one. So fing what. It is not a Yugo, maybe like a Ford Focus though. Anyone that blasts your site that has been there has never tried to run a site of their own. Do you think this is a one man show for Eatfeats? Because it list more shows than any other out there by far for small events and large. Sure most of the post are links to other sites but that is the beauty of it, it works smarter not harder. It should eb about community and bringing all CE together. Think about the children.

I always thought OJ ran a class act. The fact that he never lost it when backed in a corner is a sign of strength and intestinal fortitude. I jump the gun sometimes and have a quick fuse due to the people i grew up with. My site was very popular but in the back of my head i realized that another site would come along one day and blow it away because it wasnt really that great. Grammar needed loads of work and still does but not as bad as it used to be. I did put alot of time and effort in the internet shows. The other stuff such as editorial was never really time consuming for me. I think i sort of cleaned it up as far as quality upgrading from aol hometown . I emailed OJ some time back praising his work and he responded by informing me that his site has limitations due to non communication with the eaters. He pointed out that my site excells in that department and he wishes he had that advantage. You can do it OJ its your choice but like everything it comes with a price. Is revealing your identity worth it?

The way they are at wing bowl, it is possible Sonya may have feared for her life

Uncle Buc, Coondog & i’m sure others basically asked for the negative rambuctious attention. All Sonya did was to be a great eater that wasn’t from Philly.

They throw things at you there. Not necessarily soft things.

Other than there, it would be unreasonable to make the Jackie comparison.

It seems a bit unusual for an anonymous person to disallow anonymous comments.

Will it help w/some of the discord, sure. Will it be less entertaining, yes. Will there be many less comments, of course.

If you write something way out of bounds, should it matter a whole lot if there’s a name attached?

In the past i’ve been accused of this (occasionally accurately) & i’ve discussed w/BB that things he has written were way beyond the line of decency, & there is atleast one individual who does all most nothing but write lies on its site.

Joe, i am sure many are saying to themselves :”oh god what the hell is OJ doing ? Now it’s becoming the BB show and Rhonda Evans took a back seat. . Its just temporary .Im here to restore the sanity and then ill be on my merry way. One day OJ will thank me for this. Its more about ridding the site of leeches who’s only concern is to torment others while inadvertatly attempting to bring down the quality of Rifkin’s website. Do you realize how many real competitive eaters post under anonymous or alias so they wont give him the satisfaction of anyone knowing that they post on here. Some actually believe that they are that special , that it would be beneath themselves to let on to who they really are. Rome wasnt built in a day. If he goes back to the old way, the same shit will happen all over again . Instead of progression it will deteriorate even further. Its all about how they can capture an audience and press your buttons at the same time. If they accomplish that , a big grin appears on their face and its mission accomplished. Wait a few weeks maybe a month and i guarantee the input and responses to the posts will not only become informative but the big names in the sport will come back one by one. It might even get to the point where a college student will gather enough vital CE info for his or her term paper and write a thesis for their masters or doctorate. Wouldnt that be wonderful!

Sorry but I think Seiken is very off base. It is precisely because this website isn’t in touch with the eaters themselves and is anonymous that eatfeats can maintain some kind of perspective and cover all things to do with competitive eating. Eaters will choose or not choose to post regardless of the policy. That would leave Seiken’s site to do exactly what he suggests, being in touch with the eaters. But he bullies his way and thinks he can dish out insults instead of just dishing. That this site continues to allow him to post when he constantly changes his mind, calling it eatfeces then giving compliments is hard to understand. That raises the status of whoever is behind this website. Seiken should spend more time cleaning up his website. It is too difficult to read, all scattered.

Sonya was in real danger in WB 13.

45,000 people showed up for 35,000 available seats. There were riots and packs of vandals in the parking lot. Tons of stuff on fire and people puking and falling down everywhere in the snowy darkness at 4am. There were packs of 40 and 50 people roving the lot with iceballs.

Angeleo had spent 4 months vilifying her to his listeners and getting everyone into a frenzy. The Eagles were in the Super Bowl and Sonya would be the Stand-In for the Patriots at this point.

At the time they didnt search anyone coming in and you could bring your own booze. I was in Kongs entourage and I can remember full cans of unopened beer coming down from the 3rd level and exploding at my feet during our procession. Like mortar fire coming from all sides.

Sonyas entrance was exponentially worse as she was pelted with everything that wasnt nailed down. Paper, full beer cups, bottles, cans, food. It was pretty horrible. Not sure what it was that knocked her off the float.

They’ve tightened the show quite a bit up since then from a security point of view, but I wouldnt blame her for staying away, they robbed her with her wing count too. Saw it with my own eyes.

They still have lots of Boobs though. Like me some boobs.

Anonymous 4:23, the content of your text gives you away. I know you are one of the select few BB bashers that has posted in recent days accusing me of changing my mind as often as women put on makeup. I guess i should credit you for expanding your sneaky 10 word sentences to a full paragraph of hate. . I wont argue on your point that i took the two faced approach but . am i calling eatfeats eatfeces as we speak? Why dwell on past negativity. You remind me of an old grandmother that takes pleasure in finding fault with one of her least favorite grandchildren no matter how hard they try to make amends. OJ Rifkin could care less what anyone says as long as it doesnt become outrageously tasteless . I have yet to witness a disallowed post from someone that posts under their real name unlike you. On the contrary i am amazed that he allows you to continue to post . I thought all anonymous posters were banned except for gold members like yourself that get a free pass to critisize me no matter what. If my site is scattered what are you doing on it in the first place. Do i ask you how to rearrange the furniture in your home or your head for that matter ?

My favorite competitive eating photo of all time is the one of Badlands hoisting Sonya to the rafters when she won Wing Bowl. I also remember being in New York for art reasons just before the Wing Bowl event and asking about going. A protector with the same last name as mine suggested that perhaps that wasn’t such a good idea. I had little idea what he meant but trusted his judgment and returned to Boston. Photos tell the story. Once and always, the Sonya fan.

By the way the kid in the red shirt in the spumoni clip that claims spumoni is the best, used to be the day manager at Shop & Stop in Brooklyn He got fired because he would allow this female cashier to fart in front of the customers. I was just informed that the 6 lb milkshake challenge at chuck and ruth’s in anapolis MD is 90 min by car from the Roy Rogers contest . Forget about that one. Maybe Pretty Boy and Juliet could head out there considering they are doing media on fri.

I will not forget when I competed against Sonya in Green Bay Wi .I was shocked to see Sonya eat 7 3/4 Lb. Burgers in 10 Minutes ( Sonya’s 1st World Record) to my 5 1/2 .Also when She downed The 9 Lb. Monster Barrick Burger in Vegas.

I would like to see more contests that raise Money for People in need. For example Erik Denmark will be doing Bacon in Seattle next Week to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Hospital.I encourage some of you to contribute.

And Ray i still watch that video of you and sonya competing in Wisconsin. It was actually a great promo for Hardee burgers which was getting a great deal of hype after that event . Sonya was relatively new at the time and if you watch the video before the contest , she appeared to look somewhat aprehensive maybe because she didnt know what to expect of you as far as your eating ability.
