Webb, Bertoletti, Corbucci enter MLE top 50
The MLE top 50 has been updated for the first time in about a year. The new top 12:
1. Joey Chestnut
2. Geoff Esper
3. Miki Sudo
4. Nick Wehry
5. Matt Stonie
6. Darron Breeden
7. Gideon Oji
8. Max Suzuki
9. Michelle Lesco
10. James Webb
11. Pat Bertoletti
12. Ricardo Corbucci
James Webb, Pat Bertoletti and Ricardo Corbucci are the only new entrants, replacing Juan Neave, Gordon Hazzard and Rich LeFevre. I think Australian James Webb is the first non-American or Japanese to make the top 10. Katina DeJarnett and Ryan “Max Carnage” Rodacker are surprising omissions.

MLE needs to swap 1 and 2. There is no way Joey should still be ranked #1.

Funny how some of the rankings never change. Moose is still at 50, even though he competes much more frequently than some of the other ranked eaters. For example, when did Dud Light last do a contest?

Ranking update is likely ahead of July 4th competition as James Webb was not ranked going into the qualifier. Bertoletti came out of retirement and also will be competing on the 4th though don’t think that MLE pays eaters that retire like employers do. Perhaps Ricardo is also going to represent Brazil at July 4th. There have been a few other new eaters recently as well this year and Katalina/Ryan may have not signed yet so no ranking updates

Sonya Thomas is Korean. She was definitely top 10. Gideon Oji is also a native Nigerian

Pat is about to jump to #2 or #3 immediately after the 4th. Esper should be #1 regardless of outcome but we all know the #1 spot is reserved to whoever wins on the 4th.
