Wing Bowl 18 tickets remain on sale
Eight days after going on sale, tickets for Wing Bowl 18 remain available according to ComcastTix.com. This is the longest time tickets have remained available since tickets were required for Wing Bowl 14:
- Wing Bowl 17, 3 days to sell out
- Wing Bowl 16, 45 minutes to sell out
- Wing Bowl 15, 24 hours to sell out
- Wing Bowl 14, a little more than 24 hours

Interesting. Any thoughts on why sales have slumped over the past two years? Is it the absence of professional eaters? Doubtful, since we all agree the actual eaters aren’t the real draw. The economy? Maybe, but I think most of the people who attend Wing Bowl (speaking from experience) aren’t losing any sleep over declining NASDAQ and its effect on their 401K.
Since I don’t live in the Philly area, I don’t listen to WIP, but are they doing as good of a job of marketing Wing Bowl as they have in the past? That seems to me to be the mostly likely reason that interest and ticket sales are down.

The People, they want them some Steakbellie.
Despite the event not being about eating, the hosts complain daily at how lame the stunts are. They banned the Pros because the Pros dont bring much of an entourage and never a float when they fly in. By banning the Pros they have also cut out the Local Pros who have significant entourages, flamboyant floats, and name recognition. There’s nobody in there that has any experience in eating or showmanship.
Local Pros?
We do worthy stunts
We call in often to banter and talk smack
We have great taste in footwear
Maybe its a crapshoot up there, but I’d take a 1 in 30 random chance to win a free truck anyday, and put on a show in the process.
