I don’t mean to pull a Kanye West here,

but I surely that Matt Stonie deserved this more.

Matt certainly deserved Rookie of the Year since Adrian Morgan was actually not a rookie. But all is somewhat political. They both were deserving for sure. Juliet Lee was rookie for more than one year to make a good story for some related television program. It was probably a sort of make up call for Adrian. If Rookie of the year is only for Nathans, Matt definitely deserved it with his huge number.

Matt sounds like a better choice for 2011 rookie of the year. I do like Adrian Morgan accomplishements, and he got robbed big last year not making the finals, but still…

Congrats to Adrian – well deserved. I believe that Stonie’s just coming into contests prevented him from being considered. Next yr will be his! 🙂

How can you be Rookie of the year next year when you have already made Nathans? Really just shows that this is definitely political. Yes, Adrian got a nod and probably Matt will win next year if he continues to compete and come on with big numbers. But he will not get his way paid to anything or any special treatment. The only person who gets that is Joey. This is entertainment, not a sport. It only follows some of the things which real sports have. It lines the pockets of Nathans and the sponsors and the Sheas and one Joey, for now but not any of the always changing cast of characters. I am not saying that those eaters and newbies should not enjoy themselves just as fans enjoy all following them. But Kobayashi has it right for him, perhaps others will follow if they have something special to offer.
