Has the Hangman verified this yet? If not, these numbers are not official. The Hangman himself may have won and nobody is a aware of it.

Patrick Vandam will soon kick Joeys ass. Bertoletti is a mere annoyance that he will dispose of with little difficulty.

Bertoletti will soon be known as the Brian Seiken of competitive eating. Within one year both girls will be kicking his ass.

Bad Mouth Lerman, Sonya, Shoudt, BB and now here Hangman.

Either you respect the man or you fear he is just that great? Otherwise you would not be using up so much of your time to Bad Mouth Hangman or anyone else here.

Hangman is Great. Hangman is Great.

hangman I challenge you to be at Norfolk on June 7. I’ll be the one that whoops your ass.

That will not work because EVERYONE will whoop your ass

Just be there and I’ll take you out

    and not to dinner

But we all know that will be a small bill beacuse you can not beat anyone at eating

Two double cheeseburgers from Mc D’s should be more thsn enough to fill you up

Incredible performance by both Patricks on a cool and windy day, with off and on rain at the 1st Annual Battle of Apple Valley Gorge.

Kudos also to Mike Fitzgerald, who did 23.5 and seemed well within himself.

Frank Wach was announced as fourth at 17.5 and Russell Mad Stork Witzke was fifth at 17. Both were improvements since the last time they were seen in Minnesota.

As a Minnesota fan, it was quite the thrill to see Mr. Bertoletti show up to try to save face after his stunning 2006 loss to Chip Simpson (38-32) at the Mall of America.

I think a whole bunch of ya eaters out there aren’t gonna want any part of Patrick Vandam. 30 in his first try at hot dogs. And I’m sure he has more in him. I don’t think I going out on a limb by predicting that he’ll own future Nathan’s qualifiers here in Minnesota for as many years as he stays in the game.

Bertoletti was great signing autographs, posing for pictures and talking to the media, but I sure hope that boy didn’t get bitch slapped by the Red Head that he left with.

Patrick (Vandam) you keep eating like that and you will have top billing among all Pats and Patricks in the IFOCE. Thirty is the best total of any eater in his first attempt in eating HDBs in competition, regardless of the time limit. What’s almost as awesome is Mike’s performance with 23.5 is tremendous in and of itself. I am sure that we’ll see both of them on July 4th.

We’re early on in the 2008 qualifying season, and this is an example of how, given more exposure to and increased popularity of CE, there are many, many great eaters out there with Koby and Joey’s potential and abilities. It’s a matter of how long it takes for eaters’ “coming out parties” to get into full swing.

Each and every person on the planet is in the world’s eating database, and in 2 or 3 years it may take in excess of 30 HDBs to win virtually every Nathan’s qualifier, and we may have well over a half dozen eaters eating near or over 50 HDBs at the finals. That will be interesting, and the Joey versus Koby showdown will seem trivial in the grand scheme of things.

So Joey had better get his demands in now, while he is in a bit of a power position, because such opportunities are short-lived. Once new and better eaters come up and replace you at the top, which will surely happen, as it does in all endeavors, you’re old news and no longer a prized CE thoroughbred.

Rhonda, I know that Nathans is going to be 10 minutes now, but we cannot forget that Chip Simpson ate 38 HDB’s in his first Nathan’s attempt, and that was at the Mall of America as well, but of course it was 12 minutes. Still, that would seem like the better 1st time performance. Regardless, Patrick Vandam efforts are vicious and I expect that he will be in Chicago to school us all in HDB’s (since he resides in the midwest). He lives in MN and I imagine he will be at the qualifier over here. I know Tim Brown will be there as well and probably Frank Wach and Jim Hamrick “the Hammer”.

SyKoBOZO yes there is no doubt that 30 in 10mins is very very solid no doubt about it but keep in mind that rich was at 31 with no one near him..i am sure he could do more if he had to especially if some rookie was closing in..

Don’t forget the Hangman, who is going for at least 10 in his first try at hot dogs. That will definitely win his qualifier because everyone will have cheated if they eat more.

oh i know Rich can do more, that guys a legend,i was just trying to pump up my fellow new guys,i cant even come close to 30 and it pisses me off, haha – and Mike with 23.5 is no slouch either. 🙂

SyKo, just think, before Koby came along in 2001 the world record was “only” 25 1/8, and he doubled that. It boggles my mind when I think of the people who can eat more than that today.

I don’t know SyKo, I think Joey and Koby both are at top capacity in the low to mid-60s. I’m sure neither could eat over 70, unless someone had a second stomach installed. And that would be downright stupid.

Also, by the way, Joey was given credit for 66 when I saw him eat 63. I don’t know how or why the other three dogs got added. But 63 or 66, I was in shock that any human could eat that many.
