The Western Day Festival would be a good place for the black cowboy hat wearing Hangman to compete at. We know Hangman will not make it to Chatty.

Pete Maurizio wont the AICE 3rd National Hamburger Festival Eating Championship and why not post these AICe results here especially since theyre now the true professional league with more eaters better eaters and more contests. Im bored with reading about ifoce food drinkers all the time especially since they only have about one or two contests a month.

7:17 anonymous has a point. I wish there were more IFOCE contests…then we’d wouldn’t have all this AICE, WLOCE, and other minor league news all the time. After all, this is Eatfeats, not smallfeats.

I’d even read about Bi-Curious Pete.

And some pro will be allowed to skip the krystal mandatory meetings, just to make sure no lower ranked eater can win decent money or put their name to a title.

As the defending champion Eater X will be allowed to skip Krystals and he will be flown in First Class to win the title again. Look for the three peat.

Just wanted to let everyone know that, thanks in large part to input you provided on this website back in the spring, we are implementing several changes this year to make the Lewisville event more enjoyable for the participants. That includes cash payouts for the top six finishers ($1500, $1000, $500, $250, $150, $100). Come on down to Lewisville in September!

Shame about the date conflict — our Western Day street festival got moved to avoid local conflicts, and that created one for the tamale contest. Ah well, we’ll just do the best we can.

Registration for the 4th World Tamale Eating Championship will open on Monday, Aug. 25, through the IFOCE website. Information on the event is available at http://www.cityoflewisville.com as part of the Western Day festival package.

Just a few items of possible interest:

Past Champions – World Tamale Eating Championship
2005 – Levi Oliver, Austin, Texas
2006 – Tim “Eater X” Janus, New York City, NY
2007 – Tim “Eater X” Janus, New York City, NY

    Progression of tamale-eating World Record
    June 2005 – Levi Oliver (36 tamales, 10 minutes and 30 seconds)
    May 2006 – Chip Simpson (41 tamales, 12 minutes)
    September 2006 – Tim “Eater X” Janus (51 tamales, 12 minutes)
    May 2007 – Joey Chestnut (53 ½ tamales, 12 minutes)
    September 2007 – Tim “Eater X” Janus (71 tamales, 12 minutes)

Top Tamale Downage by a Texan (sanctioned events)
36* Levi Oliver, Austin, Texas (June 2005, Lewisville)
24 Timm Dilling, Garland, Texas (September 2007, Lewisville)

20 Nathan Biller, Wichita Falls, Texas (September 2006, Lewisville)
    * done in 10 minutes, 30 seconds

    Competition Notes
    — During the 2005 contest, eaters had to remove their tamales from the corn husks during the competition. In subsequent contests, the tamales have been shucked in advance.
    — Levi Oliver held his world record less than a year, but still holds the Texas record with his mark of 36 tamales in 10 minutes, 30 seconds.
    — During the 2007 event, Rich LeFevre tied the world record Janus had set the year before by eating 51 tamales in 12 minutes, but still lost to Tim Janus by 20 tamales. LeFevre also was competing with missing front teeth, lost during another contest the week before.
    — Prior to Tim Janus’ dominant performance in 2007, the event had been marked by close finishes – a tie and eat-off in 2005, and a one-tamale margin in 2006.
    — Traditional pork tamales are used in the contest, each weighing approximately 2.5 ounces.

But Don eatfeats posted them before you posted them. That would classify you as a copycat or perhaps jealous. Your site is still one of the best so try to keep it that way and be original

Don don’t worry about those people who have nothing to do but give you a hard time. I visit your site a lot and I hope you don’t change a thing. If these complainers keep noticing these stories you post that means they must visit your site a lot. I wonder why. Because you are a respected legend and your web site is very interesting. You are loved a whole bunch.
