I just heard the results (unofficial):
Philbin 22.5
Kong 22
Gordon 21
SB 17
I think either Gordon or SB got DQed. I am assuming Gordon is the guy that won the Shoo Fly contest last year and SB is Subich. Not sure. Anyone hear anything else?

Duh, you’re probably right. My brain is not with it here at work. I should go home so I can focus more on CE stuff. Thanks.

Any predictions on Camden and SF? I think Collins will win Camden.

Congratulations Pat! It’s nice to see you will return to Coney Island. WK and Sean, you put up some really good numbers. Maybe at least one of you can make it also. SB — very, very respectable!

SB is Steakbellie. The top three places were correct #’s until I booted 1 or 2 hdbs back out. George didn’t seem to care and ran out quickly. If someone wants to have me dq’d I understand. I guess he didn’t care since anything after 1st doesn’t matter in the situation. Sorry I made a mess of the table. I’ll try to keep em down at Camden. Congrats to Pat! Wing Kong was so close to making it and depending on Booker, may be the one to beat. I’m pretty sure Wild Bill got most of the #’s and will be posting them soon.

Good work to all at QVC. I hate when the contests are so close. Any one of the top three could have won and represented MLE well at Coney. Like Rhonda said, Steak put up a respectable number too, but I know he can do better.
I don’t know who will win at Camden. I would have to go with Booker since he is a seasoned vetran. I think he is good for 25 easily, but will do 26 to make sure he wins. The others such as Wing Kong and Gordon have a shot though. If they have a super day at 25 and Booker has a bad day with 24 all heck could break loose. You never know for sure. That’s why we take it to the table to figure these matters out. All I can say is I hope everyone can throw down a personal best!

Thanks Hall. I learned a lesson today and hope to not have a repeat. Here’s the report and contrary to what was announced, looks like third was given to Steakbellie. http://www.ifoce.com/news.php?action=detail&sn=610

Philbin, Wing King, Gordon & Steakbellie did an awesome job. Congrats PAT!
Looks as if Camden will be a rematch of Kong, Steakbellie, Flash Gordon, WIld Bill, ,myself & sticky Pete. We all look froward to being up on stage with the great Badlands Booker.

Wow, a close one!
According to the Eatfeats database, Badlands ate 22 HDBs in ’05 in his qualifier and 22 at Coney. In ’06 he ate 30 HBDs in the qualifier and 24 at Coney. It stands to reason that he’s capable of the mid-20s, but who knows how a year of retirement might affect his capacity. Either way, it should be a good contest!

Congrats all. I participated as a goof as one of the QVC employees. At 12 hdb the first time out, I think I made it respectable! I now hold the QVC Employee record, and am setting my sights on next year. I’ve got to say that it was one of the most punishing things I’ve done in a long time. There is some GRAPHIC, closeup video of Sean Gordon reversing that was simulcast to the employees nationwide–everyone’s taliking about it!
SB–good to meet you today.

I could hold the deuce, just not 21. Live and learn. At least QVC wasn’t broadcasting the feed to the public but I just feel bad for my wife who works there. I’m now “that guy”. Awseome.

Does anyone know what TIME the Nathan’s telecast starts on July 4? For some reason the event isn’t even listed on the IFOCE/MLE website’s contest page.

Hi all. I’m Sean Gordon’s “the wife who works there.” Congrats to everybody on the great contest today. I’m usually working and don’t get to attend… so thanks for bringing the excitement to me. Major kudos to Pat. I’ve heard a lot about you and it was nice to finally meet you.
As for any apologies my way, its just my luck that all the camera guys at QVC know me and Sean and took advantage of some great close-ups to throw my way later. W/ the crowd I work with though, I’m sure someone else has already done something to steal the glory.
As for Anonymous – It wasn’t the duece that was the problem… just the “1” that got away… We already saw that in Philly.
Best of luck to everybody for the “rematch” in Camden.

It has taken me a few hours and quite a bit of alcohol to get my head straight on this event. I’m ashamed to say at first I was quite immersed in my own failures to really appreciate Wing Kong’s near win. The Guy wants it, and has the heart of a Lion.
Pat P. Eats a clean game at a pace that noone else can justify.
Everyone should really appreciate Sean Gordons reslults. That guy’s really good. (and a good guy)
I loved seeing all the other PA eaters that showed. Paul, Son of Paul, Wild Bill, Philly Guy.
USMAIL delivered for the crowd in a handsome beard…and an awsome Pillies Jersey
There were plenty of new guys and newish guys, there were some GREAT folks from QVC who ate (like Doug) who really have a zest for life and just wanted to have a good time. QVC is a gracious host and a jewel in this qualifying tournament.
I cant believe i have to work in the morning. I’m so disappointed in myself….
