George Shea's twitter lists the field for Sunday's La Costena jalapeno eating contest in Chicago: "Dom Alesi, Craig Reed, John Palmgren, Bill Myers, Jim Reeves, Erik Denmark, Badlands, Sonya & Hall Hunt".

    Surely Deep Dish will compete. Why was his name left out? Hall is very good in some foods, but Jalapenos is not one of them. I guess he feels cocky after 65 Krystals, but he won’t get past Erik Denmark, who is the third or fourth best Jalapeno eater in the world in my opinion.

    They need to weigh the jalapenos.

    Some people bite them off at the stem; some bite off little more than half the pepper and get the same credit. That’s not fair.

    They ran out of peppers a couple of years ago … probably because of that very reason.

    Weighing is the only fair way to go.

    The tweet before that was “Bertoletti and Gravy Brown prepping for La Costena jalapeño contest Sunday at 3pm Mi Tierra restaurant, 25th & Kedzie, Chicago, $5800 purse” so maybe he was just listing everyone else?

    I will be there!…assuming there are no hurricane rains this year…

    It just says the roster includes the names mentioned.

    Earlier in the week he posted “Pat Bertoletti defends his jalapeno-eating title against Sonya Thomas, Hall Hunt, Badlands, Gravy Brown, Eric the Red, Wild Bill, Jim Reeves.”

Did you pop out of your chair with a brainstorm after pondering for the millionth time that you still have not gotten your fair just due as a competitive eater? How many times do we have to be subjected to your comebacks that never materialized to begin with? George Shea wont even respond to your emails and you expect him to work out a deal so you can go up against the top eaters in a jalapeno contest? Go back to sleep or start a seniors league with you Butiful Brian, Krasy Kevin , Ron Koch and Ed Jervis.

    Listen I was not give a fair shake in the cpmpetitive eating arena and every eater in their heart of hearts knows that I’m rights.I don’t want to eat among the senors i want my due as a great eater who helped pioneer the sport
