Sounds like Pete is wanting Nathans not Windmill.

I think he’s going to have to stick with Windmill. The rules have been set, and there are precedents. He is the face of AICE. He is dead to IFOCE.

We hear some big news is about to happen. That will rock the eating world.

If i was Pete i would pick a qualifier of his choice ,set up a small table on his own a short distance away from the Nathans table supplying his own dogs and buns just to see how he would fare against ifoce eaters. I realize it sounds like a bold cocky type move but what the hell , others have attempted crazier stunts than that. Great publicity stunt. Menchetti was thinking of doing that in Hartford several years ago Go for it Pete!

Which actual type of Nathan’s hot dog is used in competition? Natural casing or skinless?

  16. KevinRoss said

    March 24, 2009 @ 1:09 pm

RJ. . .it SHOULD be the natural casing type as that is the traditional nathan’s competition dog. . .but in actuality the type of dog (and even the method of preparation) varies from qualifier to qualifier. So you can’t know exactly what to expect unfortunately and have to adapt! For me, the natural casing type are definitely much harder than skinless, though a few eaters think differently I’ve spoken with.

I’m also quite curious to know if wildcard (or wildcards) are coming back this year. . .I hope so!

I agree. Should be the natural casing. But, I would definitely agree the skinless are MUCH easier to put down quickly.

Pete, set up your own table pick a qualifier and eat with the champs . Gotta bring your own dogs and buns. This is the best way to find out if you got what it takes to beat anyone in the top ten

to suggest that the #1 ranked eater in the world would even want to lower himself to such dishonorable treatment of food in a contest is obscene. Those IFOCE eaters drink their foods in all sorts of disgusting ways desecrating Gods sustenance with lemonade and fruit punch, and that is why I hate them. Pete will not be relegated to the kiddie table at an IFOCE contest! I will not allow it!!!!

So how does pre-registration work? Is it first come-first serve on April 6, or do they cherry pick those they deem worthy of bypassing a pre-qualifier to the qualifier? If they don’t pick you, do you eat the day before the qualifier? Is the pre-qualifier a full ten minutes?

  51. I said

    March 31, 2009 @ 2:24 pm

no pre-qualifier. just sign up. sure they cherry pick.

    What the hell is “pre-registration?”

  53. RJ said (Registered August 28, 2008)

    April 1, 2009 @ 11:16 am

Sorry – for some reason I thought they only allowed a set amount of pre-registration. If they didn’t take your registration early, I thought you had to go the day before a qualifier, win a contest, then be allowed to participate in the official qualifier. I have NO idea where I thought I read that, or why I thought it to be the case.
