    The tamales have been eaten at the 6th World Tamale Eating Championhip, and Eater X edged Sonya (59-56) to claim the tamale crown for the third time. Wow!

    Krystals took Eater X away from Lewisville in 2008 and 2009, but he made a statement by taking back the title today after being away for so long. Good crowd, lots of fan-drawn signs and top-of-the-lungs cheering. We’ll start planning next week on how to make the 2011 event even better. Thanks to all of our eaters! 🙂

    One nice note — the last-place finisher, Tommy Richardson, was eating for charity. He had collected pledges for each tamale eaten and his employer, a local power company, matched it. the money is going to a local food bank.

    Juliet has a Tamales win under her belt! Sonya does not. Even though Juliet deserves a higher ranking than Sonya, neither of them should be in the top 20.

    C’mon Anon525, do you really believe that? If so, I’m open to whatever argument you might have for 1) Juliet being ranked higher than Sonya and 2) neither deserving a top 20 ranking.

    I hate posting on this site because the last thing i want is for Rifkin to think i acknowledge any of the moronic comments posted about me. Let me make this clear. I could care less about Tim Janus and his covered expenses . I did not post any of the previous remarks about Janus being flown here or flown there. If perks are thrown his way it is because the sponsor feels it necessary to do so.more power to him. What is annoying to me is sneaky bastards that talk shit behind my back to the sponsor knowing im not there to defend myself. In the future i will try to make it my business to show up at certain contests where i know these so called “instigators” will be and then they could talk their little backstabbing smack directly to my face. I wont mention names for the guilty ones usually surface on here to defend themselves anyway

    Eating over 30 tamales is very, very respectable. Eating over 50 is incomprehensible (by me, anyway). Congratulations Eater X and Sonya too!

    Sonya, as Legs would say, is a multidisciplined eater if there has ever been one. It’s tough to speedeat tamales. They’re a far cry from oysters.
