I stunk up the joint with my poor performance ..I expected to do at least 27 (did that in practice) since a wild card is pretty much off the table for me, i need to pull a win in A.C. (doubtful if Bob’s there) or Citi-Field ..I better get my sh*t together by then!

What an exciting contest. Foxboro is a great location, but the theater was sort of strange. Seemed to make it an up close and personal contest and not sure anyone needs to see that kind of eating up close.
The energy was insane, even if it was one-sided. Pretty Boy has some loud and worked up fans.
It was a close call for such a long time. I think everyone was shocked to hear Booker ate 38 ( good for him. such a nice guy and great eater) becasue it looked like it was going to be close.
Flash ate spotless. I think many of us had him as the winner. He did fantastic and there are lots of fans from yesterday that are hoping he gets a well-deserved seat at Coney.
Pretty Boy and Shredder were really in the game. Again no one knew until the last 30 seconds Booker had 38.
All in all it was great. Def. a stronger contest between eaters than CA.
Congratulations Booker. Cannot wait to see where the other eaters end up eating.

If anyone has listened to Davekos’ podcast, he really comes across as very intelligent and entertaining. Maybe not as polished as CLC, but very good. Congrats!

Looking at the totals from this hard-fought contest, I wonder if Booker’s winning total of 38.5 hdbs convinces any of the doubters that his qualifier win with 40 hdbs last year was neither fluke nor mistake.
I can imagine two major responses.
1) Lightning really can strike twice in the same spot – meaning that the same man benefited from poor plate counting two years running, which I find highly coincidental. And unbelievable.
2) The fix is in – meaning Booker’s win was staged. But why would the other competitors accept that scenario? Were they on the take?
I suppose without any hard evidence people will believe different things about what really went down. It’s possible that one or both of the two responses above is “the truth,” but it seems beyond reason.
