Could be the video, as I wasn’t there, but it seems that Micah was a clear cut sixth place, and Badlands probably came in 7th.
Maybe the food was just so tasty she couldn’t resist. Could be a great marketing angle for Baldwinville’s delicious salt potatoes.
The problem is, unless the IFOCE takes a stand on this sort of thing—-why would they start now, however—- they will lose even more control over contests than the little bit they exercise even now, as all eaters may soon want to get in on the act.

Juliet cheated three ways. She started 2 seconds before the buzzer. She ate for 5 seconds after the buzzer. And then what you can’t see in the video is the great mess she made on the floor, which she refused to acknowledge, and the great mess she made on the table, which she went to great lengths to hide in her cups and in napkins she then wedged between tables.

I disagree. She ate 80 Krystals a few years ago, even though she didn’t get credit for all of them, so I have to believe that with the extra money on the line she may eat 40 plus on July 4th. Sonya will be in for the battle of her life, because Juliet is a money player. She will do what it takes to get the job done.

it has come to my attention that Mr Wing Kong Collins has picked out the culprit in a lineup. That culprit who stole his money is Ms Juliet Lee from Maryland. Please return his $125 immediately before purther attention is taken. I am not afraid to use the tazer or restraints if necessary. I repeat, RETURN THE MONEY MS LEE.
Step 2 is to ask the high ranking officiating crew of the IFOCE MLE to intervene and make the proper changes for future events. I am sure they will be highly embarrassed by these actions and will do whatever it takes to improve the standards of professional competitive eating. These gentlemen surely hold this sport to high standards. may I make some suggestions:
Weigh all trays accurately prior to and after the eating.
Use proper methods to make deductions for food in cups, on floor, in gloves & beard, etc.
Once eating is completed, have the eaters step away from the table to avoid confusion and bribery

For the last several years, Juliett has moved a little further down the table. Unfortunately, with her not being in the center, I think she is reverting back to her old ways and yes it is unacceptable particularly for those eaters who’ve lost money due to her shennagins. However, when she does move to center of the table she either does get called for it by George and the other MCs (witness George’s comments at the Krystal qualifier “Clean it up Juliet!”) if she’s eating too messy or she tends to eat cleaner with lesser totals when the attention is focused on her. So, a hidden benefit of having a women’s only final at Nathan’s is it will be that much harder for Juliet to get by with any cheating, with all the cameras and judges attention focused on her and Sonya. Sure, MLE might let Juliet get away with some crap at what ever qualifier she chooses to attend to get her totals and drama up for the finals showdown at Coney. But the finals will be much harder to get away with any funny business and therefore Sonya will blow her away at any clean, well judged contest. After five years I think we’ve all learned that Juliet is not Sonya when it comes to speed and capacity, this latest incident at potatoes kind of underscores that.

If there are two sides represented here, and there are, I align with Kong and EVERYONE. No surprises there, I love the upstanding lady eaters, Sonya is the best in all ways, Juliet is at the opposite end of the spectrum. In a contest like this, you’re bound to make a mess. Clearly some of these eaters took advantage of that and made an extra mess just to boost their numbers.
J. Lee obviously started early, kept eating long after the end and made a complete mess that she got credit for as food consumed (repeat offender… I think it’s time we all realize this leopard will never change her spots)… Sadly she wasn’t the only guilty one who took a little extra effort to bend the rules, judging by the video it looks like Davekos was equally as messy, and dud light seemed to have a huge mouth full of potatoes 2 minutes after the end (J. Lee had finished what was in her mouth at this point), which probably means he chipmonked big time at the end. I find it hard to respect eaters like that, do other eaters ever call these un-honest eaters out to their face?
Wing Kong (Shame, you got robbed a couple extra dollars) was clean as was Conti (surprisingly! maybe his bad wrap has finally made him change his ways?… I hope)
Joey and Pat put up some very impressive numbers, then to go do what they did in Houston the very next day? These guys may not be human, more like Robots.

Here’s another interesting thing about Juliet’s results. Ken Hoffman, her judge in the 2010 Nathan’s finals, reported she had gone through 20 hot dogs when time expired, then gave her credit for three chipmunked hot dogs for a total of 23.

A 10:52. Two extremes: Chopped liver and an outstanding competitive eater; Juliet is certainly the latter.
That’s why I don’t understand her tactics. If she spent more effort focusing on using her excellent speed-eating talent in the allotted contest time, her results, as well as her image, would improve all the way around.
I was really proud of Juliet’s performances the last couple of years, and I want to be an even bigger fan of hers than I am now. I don’t want to see a reversion to Broadway and Krystals tactics.
She must either be very thick-skinned, doesn’t care, or has an obsession with seeing what she can get away with. My feelings get hurt easily, and I wouldn’t want to show my face after an episode like one of the three mentioned above. But she doesn’t seem to mind.

Okay, here’s the thing, I believe that if I met BB I could not help but like him. He seems friendly and my first impression would be very positive. I’ve no doubt.
Talent-wise, BB’s an excellent interviewer, one of CE’s BEST! I found his site to be fairly entertaining, with a few exceptions, and I love the guy’s witty, dry sense of humor!
It’s just his online antics that I wish would change. He goes too far out of his way to bring attention, both negative and positive, to himself, and he publicly shuns any and all whom he feels don’t treat him in accordance with his expectations.
If BB could refrain from the latter, he would be one of my top three or four figures in all of CE.

When you eat front and center, you’re in the fishbowl, so to speak, and your chances of getting away with underhanded tactics are markedly reduced.
Also, I’ll admit, every swingin’ d–k out there has broken tacit, implicit rules of CE at some time or other. That’s the nature of things in CE. You start eating too perfectly—-whereby abiding by the rules overwhelm the goal of doing well, and you likely won’t do well.
But there has to be a limit, and it’s obvious when people violate that limit with respect to persistency and to what degree.

Look, we all feel for any eater that gets shafted when another eater cheats someone out of their winnings. But, cheating and negatives associated with cheating at a competition can have greater ramifications. One example: Every eater loved Krystals, one the best run, classiest, and nicest organizers on circuit. But you can’t deny, that Juliet’s actions did help add, even in a small way, to that event going away. I mean, I can remember the video of that qualifier when at the end of the event due to Juliet’s less than upstanding eating techniques that the crowd got very upset — even little kids wrote blogs about the disturbing lady who smashed food into her face. In fact, no doubt it led to the next year of the “no dunking rule” and it appeared Juliet was clearly not welcomed to participate. Of course, Koby parting ways with MLE was the major factor for the event going away, but I still feel that Juliet’s behavior did help contribute in some small way. These events are supposed to be fun, and even the perception of cheating gives them a black eye that organizers would rather just do without.

I’ve viewed the contest a few times and here is my opinion on it (as if anybody cares)
– Pat, Joey, Tim and Booker all ate as they normally do, very well!
– Bob, also did very well, but I honestly thought he would put up a larger number considering high capacity foods seem to be his strong suite. Maybe it was the salt content that threw him off his game?
– I agree with NIC, Wing Kong and Conti ate pretty clean… At least clean for Conti standards…
– Brian Dud also ate a very clean contest, however I also took notice that he was still chewing a large amount of food 3 whole minutes after the buzzer. No big deal though really in the grand scheme of things.
Now to get to the controversial eaters, this is what I noticed
– J. Lee got a 2 second head start and continued to eat 18-20seconds after every body else. Why does should she get 10mins 20 seconds to eat while everybody else only gets 10?… Now I’m not clear on this rule but at the 6:37 mark she pours water into her hand full of potatoes, are you allowed to do that?… and finally at the 6:57 mark, you actually see he throw some of her potatoes onto the floor… Other then those, it looks like she wasn’t over the top messy, at least for what I noticed on of the video that may have focused on her 2.5-3mins of the contest.
– I think the most overlooked eater is Pete Davekos, he was way messier then J. Lee and while he didn’t appear to get an early start and late finish, I think he was the biggest offender in this contest considering he placed ahead of both Wing Kong and J. Lee… now how much of those 8lbs were on his face, the floor or around his table is the $500 question as to him placing in the correct slot.

that video clearly shows Juliet eating before and way after the contest was over. It shows two handfuls being added to her mouth after it was clearly over. in her defense why should she stop doing this? She never seems too get in trouble, just keep on keeping on. imagine how large her totals will be when she adds gloves to her game?
as far as people that ate clean, hard too tell from a video. what you need to see is there area after the contest after they picked up anything that fell.
for drs, Juliet say many times that she has a dr. and it has been on this sight a lot.

Juliet’s fans, friends and loved ones, trying to justify Juliet’s behavior or placing greater blame on other eaters is not helping Juliet. Loyalty is one thing, but video doesn’t lie. One time caught in the act might have been unfortunate, but a history of bad behavior demonstrates a trend. The best only way to reduce this flourish of negative posting or negative feelings towards Juliet is a demonstration that this type of behavior will not continue when she competes fair and clean at her next contest. I don’t think a genuine personal apology and admission of her mistake to any of the eaters hurt by her actions would be a bad idea either. We’re all human, to err is human, and to forgive is to forget. Until that time, arguing is just getting those who were disappointed in Juliet more angry or more disappointed.

After further reviews of the video, it is my opinion that Juliet not only had a large amount of food chipmunked in her mouth but she had a massive pile cupped in her hands. The honest thing would be to finish whats in the mouth but put down on the plate whatever is in the hands.
A letter has been sent to Ms Lee asking for $125 in large bills to be forwarded to Mr. Micah Collins. This would be excepted as an apology if the money is received.
