2012 Nathan’s Charlotte qualifier video
(via comment) Dave “US Male” Goldstein has a video of the last five minutes of the 2012 Nathan’s Charlotte, NC qualifier won by Yasir Salem along with the first five minutes of the post-contest period (with no awards). George Shea has harsh words for Paul Barlow (9:25 mark): “Horrible performance. Stick with the movies.” (Interestingly, in the Andy Troy podcast from March Crazy Legs Conti says he thinks Yasir Salem should be named the 2012 MLE rookie of the year even though he started competing in 2008 (starts at 7:30 mark).)

Reliable source informed me that after 8 yrs of service Allen Goldstein is finished with the IFOCE. I doubt any persuasion by George Shea to convince him to have a change of heart will work this time .Two isolated incidents played a huge part in his decision. Poor judging in NC and comments regarding his age and mortality

Years of service? What does that mean? While I do not approve of such sarcasm about anyone, it seems that BB has a sense of entitlement. You choose to be an eater, you choose which organization if any, you can choose not. Seems pretty straightforward. No one is a slave, as in servitude or service.

Lot of bullcrap. Shredder wants to be pampered by George Shea . They have no intention of removing him from the rankings unless Shredder calls George and demands to be removed from the rankings. I bet George offers him an all inclusive to fly him out for the next 5 contests of his choice. Pleeeeeeeze he aint goin nowhere

I guess maybe the Goldsteins or maybe Barlow actually still don’t get it, but honestly, if you can’t figure out the joke by now, then it’s on you. It’s like won some b.s. contest back in 19 and they’re still “a force to be reckoned with.”
It’s tragic but really funny that anyone in MLE, and I don’t care who you are, gives a damn about what anything that’s said about them on stage. The only things that matter are 1.) Having fun? 2.) Getting paid? If you answered ” No” to either of these questions, then you deserve exactly what you’re getting. Don’t get pissed off if you’re too stupid to get the joke. It’s pretty obvious.
When you’re not getting paid, its’s just like any other job. Go get another one you like better. Wake TFU.

To anyone offended by George’s words to Paul or Alllen, get a life. We are side-show freaks putting on a show, not prima donnas. If Allen or Paul can’t handle the heat, they know how to get out of the kitchen. I actually asked George to go harder on me in Buffalo last year, because he was being too nice. I want the BS to fly. We are like professional wrestlers, not a bunch of NFL quarterbacks, afraid of getting our feelings hurt. Yes, Patriots fans, I’m referring to Tom Brady………(sorry Pretty Boy).

U.S Male is no dummy. He went out with flair. Torres, well, let the facts speak for themselves, Chomper or Shredder, whatever his name is should clue in, and I always thought Barlow was just doing this for some other reason.
I could be wrong in all of these cases. But even if you (like me) don’t see the “inside story,” it should be pretty clear that if you are not traveling all over the world and/or making five figures playing this silly game, then you should take up golf or chess.
There are too many sick little guys willing to hurt themselves to take your place.

I agree 100 per cent with Mike. Get a life you thin skinned fools. There are always one or two troublemakers that seem to know everything about me and how i have ruined marriages and destroyed relationships with other fellow IFOCE members, Do you realize how pathetic you sound ?. It is what it is as Mike put it. Side show freaks putting on a show for the audience . If you cant handle my heat or George heat get the hell out of the kitchen. I cant count the number of times George gets his digs in on me and i could care less.. He refers to me as a single sex symbol on the prowl so look out ladies. I think its hilarious. Im not old old man but an old man on the circuit compared to the others with nothing to prove anymore in the looks department .BTW i have buried the hatchet with many eaters in the sport that called me nearly every name in the book and why? Because im not bitter like some of you and “some of you” know who you are because of your inability to let it go. Take a look at the man or woman in the mirror and you will come to realize why you have very few friends in your miserable life .Get a sense of humor dont take everything personal . Life is short

If you are not making big money doing this then get out or continue to make an ass of yourself supporting the ones that are. Barlow wants to be noticed that is all he cares about which is why he wants the world to worship and embrace his newly found movie career Shredder got involved because of Jarvis. When Jarvis left he competed less and less . No fun when your mentor finds another hobby if he actually did. Krachie last check wants nothing to do with competitive eating. I doubt he even remembers he was a competitive eater after hypnosis took care of that issue

As BB maintains, you can’t take what people say about you serious, and if you do, you are in too deep and need to exit the premises of competitive eating. It took a decade for me to figure out (accept) that competitive eating is more like WWE than an actual sport. It is not even sports entertainment. It’s its own genre of entertainment, and everyone is a character playing a role, whether they want to be or not.
I think many people (with some exceptions) who eat competitively already have some sort of psychological issue going on. CE is fertile ground to attract people who have identity issues, and excelling in that activity helps define them. (If you don’t believe this, you’re not being realistic; just look at some of the eaters and what they do to get noticed.)
Placing too much importance on CE certainly cannot be healthy. If eaters get overly serious about CE, they’ll end up either in a mental ward or needing to be there.

I’m writing you as a concerned fan of competitive eating in regards to Brian Seiken. I know he is ranked by your organization as one of your professional eaters and he has in the past competed in your organizations events.
It is my opinion and I don’t believe my opinion to be unique, that this person is unstable and a represents himself and therefore MLE and IFOCE in a extreme negative manner. I understand many of your ranked eaters are colorful characters which does make your organization fun to be part of and watch. There is nothing fun, entertaining or family orientated about Mr. Seiken. He is a the epitome of a “loose cannonâ€.
I feel he really may be dangerous to himself or others. His toxic writings on his own web site and on sites such as Eatfeats.com are quite disturbing to say the least. Please consider this when allowing him to have a connection to MLE or participation in future events hosted by the Major League of Eating. My recommendation would be to remove him from your rankings for the sake of the fans, competitors and especially your organizations good name.
I had to laugh after i read this . A prime example of what i was referring to. This person obviously was obsessed with me to the point where a letter was actually fwd to MLE & the Sheas. Mission was not accomplished. Matter fact Mike George & Rich must have laughed their asses off. Mission was not accomplished . Mr or Mrs thin skinned wasted their precious time because 8 months later i am still here and still ranked. Gotta love the lines “toxic writings” & “dangerous to himself” LOL LOL LOL LOL . When i read this post last Nov i couldnt stop laughing for days

How did this become about Brian? It’s about an old news month old video of a Nathan’s qualifier with yet another questionable decision and Shredder’s inevitable exit from MLE. Brian is probably upset that he wasn’t invited to the BBQ challenge with the Goldstein boys. Dave and Allen should do more challenges together, it looked fun. Call your selves “US Sh-rale.”

Rhonda makes a good point. I think everyone involved in the sport wants to be noticed or appreciated. There are times when i have given eaters pat on the back telling them what a great job they are doing and they reply thank you it means a lot to hear that. Responses of that nature might mean they might have failed in some of their accomplishments in life or were constantly put down or belittled by family members or friends in the past. It could mean a plethora of things . Some of the eaters strived to become pro athletes but for some reason could not cut the mustard.

wow…no wonder my ears were burning! I always, since I started this ten years ago, do it for the fun! It’s a great group of people (we are all nuts), and George was right…my total was pathetic…it usually is! Hah!! But, I love competing, seeing all my friends, and probably will keep flailing away until I drop….thanks for your concerns, but no worries!!
I would love for the world to embrace my movie career, sure, but what I really like is to actually make some serious money at it, which is what I’m working on….maybe if the world does embrace it, it will mean I’m making some $$$!! YOMP!

I didn’t post this video because of the comments made by George. Allen doesn’t care about that. Someone on here decided to make it about that and then you all fed into in. Although old news, the video was posted because it shows how the announced winner was still eating after time was up. Allen felt cheated. Some of you know how that is. Enough said.
