@BS: someone entered the Louisville qualifier by the name of “Brian Eick” and did 16 hot dogs for 2nd place. The last name is close to “Seiken”. Did you go to Louisville? instead of Las Vegas?

Sorry I posted this in the Louisville contest instead of Vegas
Looking at the video on facebook,Rich did a great job but was allowed to eat for at least 45 seconds after contest ended.. Las Vegas goldenboy can do no wrong Its just unbelievable that eating for 40 seconds after the contest goes unnoticed

I think Seiken was the Eick guy but stormed out of there because he thought this was his contest to win
Anonymous said

It didn’t go unnoticed. You have up to a minute to clear your mouth of food. Michelle took almost as long and Joey and other top eaters routinely take that long.

From the article:
“In a 1985 road trip to Amarillo, Texas, the couple took on the Big Texan Steak Ranch’s challenge to eat a 72-ounce steak — with sides — and receive the meal for free. Both LeFevre and his wife accomplished the task. “It was easy,†he said.
They returned nearly every year before the new millenium and completed the challenge each time.”
So you are allowed to do this food challenge multiple times. I also heard one guy in the 2000’s has won it at least six times (not a competitive eater). He stops in for a free steak dinner every time he passes by.

In the video for the article, George Shea calls the competition between Lesco and Lefevre “nothing short of miraculous”, with the contest going back and forth and Rich just edging out Michelle by one hot dog at the very end. In the article, Michelle claims she did not prepare, and Rich said this was the hardest thing he has ever done in his life. If he were younger, he said, he would train and practice more.

There is also pic in the accompanying gallery of a couple in the crowd eating the free left overs, but with mustard.

Lemme Clear This Up said

Hey guys, it’s Michelle. I was right next to Rich, and I’m pretty sure he didn’t cheat. We weren’t really racing each other as much as we were both just trying to hit about 30. I was going to try to catch up to him, after kinda getting that competitive urge in the last minute, but I was a little too late starting my finishing sprint. He beat me fair and square. When the seconds counted down, we both stuffed in the last dog, and chewed it for about the same amount of time. I’m 99% sure he didn’t have extra in his hands (I was kinda busy chewing, so I can’t give you the 100% on that).
I’d say he legitimately got 30. I know I legitimately got 29. My primary goal was to just qualify, my secondary goal was to try for 30. If I had prepared for the contest, and felt more confident in my capacity, I would have pushed harder. It’s just a little hard to have motivation to hit PRs when you know that the only way you can lose your spot at Coney is if you inadvertently disqualify yourself. I just decided to make sure I lived to fight another day.
Anyhow, in summation, Rich fought a good, and fair fight.
See ya at Coney!

Speaking of Brian Seiken, I happened to be watching old MLE videos, and in one, George Shea says many fellow eaters found Sonya Thomas attractive, and one admitted to even having dreamed of her. It was Brian Seiken. Sonya said she felt uncomfortable about this.

You are such a stupid pathetic ass. Do you honestly believe everything you watch? The segment mentioned that Seiken dreamed about Boone and Sonya in a baked bean contest which was a hoax conjured up by George Shea . In the interview Sonya was caught off guard but the real truth came when George wife watched the clip and the part where he asks Sonya ” you are very very attractive Have i ever come into your dreams’? George was forced to sleep on the sofa for a week True story Just ask him

Rich main concern is getting the free airfare to NY so he can eat at Carmines and the free hot dogs fries and chicken fingers in the back bullpen after the contest. BTW expect Gavonne to wear a disguise obtain a press pass and get free food in the back like hes done year in and year out

Ok, I was looking at the gallery above in the LV Sun. In the bottom, these are the headlines for Las Vegas today:
Elderly couple die after leaping from Silverton parking garage
Man accused of fatally stabbing girlfriend is probation officer
Police: Man shot in leg during robbery on Strip
Police: Student says teacher sought picture of him in underwear
Four arrested in 16 Las Vegas armed robberies
2 sought after woman they dropped off at hospital dies
Man arrested in random Las Vegas stabbings that left 1 dead
Report: Ex-con, just out of prison, viciously beats man’s grandma
Man injured in random knife attack dies, police say
Feds warn of gas pump scheme that can drain a victim’s bank account
Metro warns of ‘virtual kidnapping’ scam happening in Las Vegas
Is this a joke? If I were you, I would stay out of Vegas. Possibly the most dangerous town in America. I commend Carmen Cincotti and Brian Seiken for not going.

Vomitting is very stressful on the body, especially the heart and blood vessels, and can cause a heart attack or stroke. It can also cause asphyxiation to to aspiration if particles get lodged into the throat or trachea. But I guess bodies can get used to it.

I think it would be a real hit it someone would film Lafevre at the Hotdog champion ship in New York and follow him after the contest as he gets lost into the crowd to sneek into the bathroom to do his stuff..Then he goes up to the greenroom with an empty stomach and eats hotdogs and fries while telling the people up there how hungry he still is…GREAT CHAMP

According to this article, some competitors reverse in public
http://palashbd.com/the-hot-dog-eating-contest-is-a-disgrace-to-gluttons-everywhere/
anonymous said
April 26, 2017 @ 5:02 pm
One of George Shea’s cardinal rules he tell competitors is if you have to reverse, please do it out of the public eye. One time, Dale Boone violated this in the early 2000’s by vomiting right on stage at the table.

Rich Lefevre blatantly cheated. He grabbed and tried to put a full hot dog in his mouth for at least a full 15 seconds after the clock reached zero!!! It would fit in, so he kept his hands over his mouth for a minute. Other eaters don’t grab food after 0, especially if their mouth is already full.
