    Qualifying minimums should be raised further. For men it should be 30. For women it should be 20.

    So for men, this year so far these are the only men should be in:

    38 Breeden
    34.5 Salem
    33 Morgan
    30 Hendry
    Bye Chestnut
    Bye Stonie

    Of the remaining qualifier, these 3 will ikely get 30+: Cincotti, Oji, Esper

    If you can’t do 30+ in men or 20+ in women, you should not be on stage.

    @1119 I am legitamatey curious… what do you Fink is gained by having less people on stage?

    I guess a case could be made that less travel packages could mean more prize money. Besides that, I don’t see an disadvantage to having more people up there.

    I personally love seeing the different personalities pop up on the Road To Coney. Even if they don’t give Joey a legitimate run, it is still fun to see the cast of characters.

    The more people on stage, the more diluted the event becomes. There’s little or no focus on eaters four or more places beyond the center of the table. I think entrants should be limited to 12 people, for both men and women.

    FBTSPod, 9-10 men on stage are plenty of competitors. And these 9-10 guys noted have the best personality and character. There’s no need for sub 30s, they don’t bring anything to the table. The only exception is Booker, but he is capable of 30+, but you’ll have to ask him why his performance is slacking. I bet if you set a min 30, you’ll see an increase in numbers.

    But keeping the bottom so low, we have mediocre performances and eaters barely trying and getting in. If these guys are shooting for the stars, what’s the point?

    I just realized I should have also included Rodriguez, as I believe he’ll also do 30+.

    Better still, do away with separate men’s and women’s divisions and have one event with no more than 12 to 15 entrants. Make it special to compete on the 4th.

    Without the other people, the “table enders” it would lose appeal, because you would not have the idea of “the average Joe” winning his local qualifier. Remember financially the qialifers are important too. We all may like, watch, and follow CE, but not the average person. They would cheer on their friend in the qualifier, because that’s their, big day, the day they get to win a trophy, the day they get an awesome prize, that gets overlooked, a free all expenses paid trip (over 10/20 HD) and get to be on ESPN, and participate in the Super Bowl of CE

    That why they should not raise the minimums

    Glad someone agrees with me. Not fair that women get trophies hotel expenses paid for and an envelope of $300 in spending money for eating 12 or 13 hotdogs. How many times has wild bill eaten 14 or 15 dogs and gets nothing in return. Yes 20 minimum for women 25 for men .30 is pushing it Freaking joke women getting in with 7 hot dogs

    Carmen i played deepstacks at Borgata yesterday. 68 players remain 27 get paid With blinds at 2 4 I had 55k left i shoved with QQ but my luck guy to my right who was shoving his Aces with bad kickers all day and winning decides to make me his next victim. He calls my QQ shove with A10 . Thought i was home free till he rivers an Ace. If i won it would have propelled me to at least a min cash . I kicked all the chairs did not wish anyone GL and stormed out like a madman .
    As i was making my way to garage i kept repeating to myself in front of bystanders “Why me ” “why me ” Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday whether i compete or not.

    Nice that kids of the new era are willing to make it public as to where they are competing . Well at least some like Carmen. Back in the early days everyone sort of knew where everyone else was competing because there was a friendly bond among the eaters. But after 2005 the qualifying events became secretive only revealed to their eating compadres. Chestnut Simpson Janus Shoudt just to name a few would keep their appearances a secret so they could look out for each other to avoid collusion . . Eaters such as Brian Subich would contact eaters personally via email to find out who is gong where. Others would call the mle office like Goldstein hoping that Kate Westfall would let the cat out of the bag because she knew where everyone was going once they register on the site .

    25 should be minimum for men and 20 should be minimum for women. If all the training and practices can’t bring their totals up to those levels; then they don’t belong there. Eaters who can accomplish those numbers without training (Lefevre, Thomas) have become extremely rare and will eventually be left in the dust by eaters who are younger and more eager.

    904 wow what a bad beat. I would’ve played the same BUT only because I would’ve concluded (which I’m sure you did as well) that this guy is playing aggressively without much to show for it. Queens to me aren’t my favorite to play, but some situations I guess would play em to put an aggressively player in their place (if I feel like he’d call without much). One of my leaks for sure. But keep in mind I’m not very good at poker – maybe if I put as much time into it as I do this eating thing I’d be at WSOP one day..

    949, I mean if anyone directly asks me where I’m going I’ll tell them. I’m not interested in stepping on anyones toes – to be honest I had planned to leave queens open so that any other NY eaters without the means to travel could go there instead but given my constraints with the program I’m in, I really don’t have too much time to travel.

    Did you know they read eatfeats at the MLE office? On the FBTS podcast with Matt Cohen, Matt said Ryan Nerz initially helped him and even pointed him to eatfeats.

    I also learned from a FBTS podcast with Juan Rodriguez that Juliette Lee always starts to eat when the countdown hits 5 or 6 seconds. At gyoza, she stuffed her cups with them and would won had there not been deductions.

    They need to give Kate a microphone since she is hard to hear on the podcasts. Also, they need to regulate the volume somehow. When Mike gets excited, the volume is too loud, or when they play their opening or closing music. And, it is boring as hell when they watch a YouTube video on air and the audience can’t see it, like with Adam Moran.
