Pat Bertoletti, Geoff Esper, James Webb, Miki Sudo and Darrien Thomas are expected to compete in Smoke’s Poutinerie World Poutine Eating Championship in Toronto on August 10.

    There are not any other Canadian eaters that want to sign. Maybe an amateur will show a promising future at this years poutine contest.

    Joel and Scott are only other Canadians that can eat, and they don’t want to join MLE

    There are other Canadian esters out there . It’s ridiculous how a Canadian contest panders to the Americans. At least have 5 Canadians and 15 Americans . Have 20 competitors . Stop being so cheap .

    … Some people are at different points in there life where work and family demand all there attention at the moment and can’t practice so they can be labeled as eaters ” That can eat ”
    There’s lot of good eaters across the world. They are just naturally good at it . But due to life , they don’t have time to practice.

    No , I am not in Toronto . I am on the waiting list . I am a couple hours away from Toronto on the plane . Looks like a great contest, with 3 amazing eaters finishing top 3 . I wish I could have participated but I was put on the waiting list ..

    There are 5 Guys in Canada that compete at least 2 or more times a year. Yes , the 3 main guys , Joel , Scott and Darrien are the ones that practice more often .
    Joel can be the biggest most famous competive eater if he wants too . It’s up to him . Scott and Darrien are hard working middle of the pack guys with average personality at best. Although Scott has an incredible physic .
    There used to be a major independent 12 minute pizza eating competition called ” Let Them Eat ” in Barrie Ontario but that one is gone . The Poutine Eating Competition in Toronto was the first one in 5 years .
