1) Pat Bertoletti 40 30 HDB
2) Richard Foley 11.5
update 1:30 The Hungry Sisters report Pat Bertoletti was the obvious winner. The official total has yet to be announced.
update 1:28 The contest has started, Hungry Sisters are posting updates
The contest is indoors this year, unlike in previous years when it took place in the Concord Mills parking lot.
A video of Paul Barlow’s appearance on WBTV this morning is available
Pat Bertoletti is expected to compete. Juliet Lee is also expected according to Hungry Sisters list of entrants.

You’re stupid! There were no qualifiers in the midwest, but there were several qualifiers he could have gone to without invading the territory of eaters normally committed to them, like Thackerville, Atlanta, or Sam Jose. Barfoletti pulled the same shit a few years ago when he decided to invade Rich LeFevre’s home territory of Las Vegas, when there were several midwest qualifiers, forcing Rich to spend money to go to AZ to qualify. Barfoletti is a spoiled brat!

One of the biggest slaughters ever! Pat ate 30 fo first, some walk-up guy ate 13.5, Rich was third with 11.5….and yes, I had a mere 10…..but that was good enough for fourth. Guy between me and Pat did 4…yes, 4. But, hey, he tried, had fun, and competed like all the other walk-ups, and enjoyed the heck out of it, and was a good sport. Nasty Nate was supposed to be there, sorry he didn’t make it – Bertoletti “bad” (if 30 can be considered bad) totals were probably due to lack of anybody giving him a run for the money. Juliet, and Wing Kong, were not on the official final list, from what I gathered from Rich.
Hats off to Rich Foley – buddy, you got me this round in the battle of the flailing and failing old farts….see you Krystal season.
Get Real, with your “wonderful” command of the English language, and outstanding wit….I don’t understand why you don’t get more face time on TV – all I can say is, if they ask me, I’ll keep showing up until they realize YOU deserve that spot – YOMP!

Nun its no big deal being a judge. I thought it was a kind gesture on behalf of Dave Baer in asking me to judge one of the table enders that couldnt speak english. I dont think anyone but Dave would have asked me. Aside from that i was still forced to abide by certain restrictions like beint stopped when i tried to gain access to the back room to hang with some of the eaters before the contest. If that rule applied to others with the exception of the sheas and media representatives i would have no problem, but when i saw unnamed family members of eaters walking in and out of the backroom without being stopped by security , i knew someone put the word out on me if you catch my drift. I went through this not once but twice. 2007 and 2009 . Never again. Mind you, this might not apply to you or anyone else asked to judge. These actions seemed to apply to me because a select few seem to have it in for me. Unless i am asked to judge a top ten eater instead of Marco whatever from Italy , i have no interest . Matter of fact my sole interest is being on stage front and center for ESPN and the media. Now that to me is an honor.
