Joey on 3rd place meatball finish
The Vallejo Times herald has an interview with Joey Chestnut in which he discusses his first loss to an American since the chili cheese fries contest at the Queen Mary in February. Joey says he had difficulty finding meatballs similiar to the contest meatballs and that he arrived at the Tropicana at 10am Saturday after a sleepless night. The article says that all top 3 eaters ate in the 9-9.99 lb range. The controversial judgement awarding Bob Shoudt the victory over Sonya Thomas is not mentioned.

nothing about the outcome of the meatball contest results should be changed a pressedent was set at the ice cream contest and its ruling by the commissiner chas. hardy clearly says when its over it done , sonya shoulnt be some privleged charactor who make s demands and everyone jumps to please her

I have tons of other things to worry about than Joey Chestnut Tom . Right now he is the furthest thing from my mind. The kid doesnt put a dime in my pocket so let him be. I get tons and tons of interviews from other eaters. If i get snubbed by Chestnut , Sonya or for that matter anyone in the ifoce i think i’ll live. . I mean like who cares ? Ok
