Wow. It’s hard to say what Sonya will do with her future in CE. To claim that she’s done because she lost a close one (or several close ones) is a stretch though. To avoid those close losses I guess she could always…I dunno…EAT MORE? Fact is, Sonya isn’t used to losing as often as she has been lately and that’s tough for an veteran competitor to get used to.
But you really wanna know why Sonya Thomas won’t quit? $34,890. According to OJ’s running monetary winnings tally, that’s how much Sonya has won in 2006. And that doesn’t count appearance fees. So yeah, she’s probably pulling down WAY more than she’s making in her day job. Sonya’s not going anywhere and Sonya knows it.

Maybe it’s her time TO leave. most of the best eaters, except for Koby only seem to stay competitive for a few years. She’ll be missed a bit, but life moves on. That will certainlt free up more purse money for other up and coming eaters.

Cookie Jarvis? I’d all but forgotten about him. Yes, I guess he did used to be okay in his day. But he retired because he was getting his butt kicked by mid-tier eaters. The spending time with family reason was a very convenient excuse. But I don’t blame him.
