Patrick Michels has a preview for Grantland.com of the Nathan's womens division containing a history of Sonya Thomas' competitive eating career. The Wall Street Journal also has a preview of the women's contest along with mini-profiles of 14 finalists. Michels says that nine women will compete in the contest leaving two unknowns besides the 6 women to break 10 hot dogs in qualifying and Laura Leu.

    The Nathan’s site states that all of the women’s winners “will be competing,” but is not updated to include the winners of the most recent qualifiers: http://nathansfamous.com/PageFetch/getpage.php?pgid=38. Our list includes the 12 women who finished first during the qualifiers: http://donsturdy.com/blogs/2011-nathans-hot-dog-eating-championships-womens-preview.

    Is anyone aware of a definitive list, or can confirm who will actually be there?
