I think preparing 30 pounds of chili for each competitor is slightly overkill.

This is right up Sonya’s alley. I would love to see World Champion Dale Boone in this one.
Between Sonya and Juliet, he’d be the meat in a loser sandwich. Sonya would nearly double his total … that is, if he kept it down.

Looking forward to seeing the results between Sonya, Shoudt and Joey, seems like a good food type for comparing talents since chili would have (potentially) fewer variables than some other foods.

Brian Seiken is the greatest name in the history of competitive eating. From Kobayashi to Cookie, from Badlands to Chestnut, from Stu Birdie to the great Juliet Lee, everyone who is anyone in competitive eating owes the great Brian Seiken!! I see a bronze statue being erected in praise of this great man!

Without Seiken competitive eating as we know it would not exist.

Juliet Lee, undoubtedly, will be the overwhelming local favorite in this contest. It’s a shame that all the higher ranked eaters have to come. This could be a wonderful moment of glory for her. Who knows, she might surprise and beat everybody!

I hope Ben’s pipes are unclogged before the contest this weekend: http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/bens-chili-bowl-closed-for-a-week-because-of-plumbing-work/2011/10/03/gIQAKKpVJL_story.html
Also, here’s an article mentioning Juliet: http://germantown.patch.com/articles/germantown-competitive-eaters-next-conquest-bens-chili-bowl

Oh, and let me just say that if the pipe issues are resolved prior to Saturday’s event, it may behoove Ben to keep the plumbers close by, because they might be needed again shortly after the contest is over.
