Crazy Legs interview on the Mike & Mike show

A video clip of Crazy Legs Conti’s phone interview on the April 1 “Mike and Mike” show can be viewed on ESPN.com. A graphic lists Crazy Legs’ first name as “Kevin”. That video clip is available for download.

The full interview is available in an audio podcast. Crazy Legs’ interview starts around the 30 minute mark. Crazy Legs will probably be a commentator for Mike Golic’s contest and he suggests Krystal burgers as the food. Conti says that Sonya will not defend her 2005 title at the Acme Oyster eating contest.

The once upon a time champ not defending her favorite title is writing on the wall for retirement and I know why. It starts with a J and ends in a T and it rhymes with Lee but I’m not saying anything.

Dr. Big Time has a lot of drive, which spills over into CE. The IFOCE would be ignorant not to use his physical likeness to promote competitive eating. You’d better get used to seeing more of him. (Doesn’t bother me one bit.)

Krystal burgers, huh? I had some Krystal burgers when I was down south last month and they’re an awesome eating contest sponsor but I have to admit, the burgers weren’t that great (wafer thin, flavorless meat patty on soggy bun).

Mega, that’s the reason for the astronomical #s in competition the last 2 years. Koby, Joey, Pat, Humble, and X (to a lesser degree) have it down to a science. Once you waterlog the small buns, you just drink them down. As long as people continue to chew a less-than-waterlogged Krystal, they will never get past 70.

But the hot dogs are more trouble for some (like Humble Bob) because you have to chew the dog a bit. But Koby, Joey, and Pat (and to a lesser degree X) have that figured out too. And the smaller one’s esophagus, the more trouble an eater will have–in both foods.

That’s likely the reason Sonya’s and Juliet’s numbers in both foods are limited. They can only swallow so fast, and they don’t want to choke. I don’t blame them. Regardless, I don’t understand how they can put up the numbers they already do. But I think both have pretty much reached their maximum in all foods, and their maximum is still very much amazing!

Crazy Legs set the record straight. She only ate 46 oysters in 10 minutes and not 46 dozen. I knew something was wrong.
