To celebrate reopening after Hurricane Helene, Bear's Smokehouse in Asheville, NC will hold a Blue Moon Pie eating contest on March 29 awarding $500 to the winner. Jamie McDonald will compete and there will be a $250 bonus if the winner beats his time.

    The Poutine contest happened in August. I believe there was plenty of coverage here about it.
    Joel definitely would have made waves had he continued to do MLE events, but this appeared to be a one and done thing. It’s either stay independent and get beat by Molly & Dan, or MLE. The crazy thing about poutine was that he beat Pat, James and Geoff. (assuming the count was accurate).

    Joel was paid by the sponsor to be there. MLE found out on the day he was competing.

    Joel got to do the poutine eating contest because he is from Eastern Canada and only Eastern canadians get picked .
