    Schuyler, Brunelli, Gilbert, Millender, Algenio, Bertoletti, and Shoudt were all there. So was Todd Greenwald. Emma Dalton was there for the UK.

    Four people will make it. Last year those four were Molly Schuyler, Pat Bertoletti, Tom Gilbert, and Dave Brunelli. This year I predict Bob will replace either Tom or Dave.

    slobkin was there. he tried out by eating 11 pickles and told the organizers that he was the world record pickle champion of the world. he was clearly annoying them but you know when lardkin talks about pickles he can’t stop oink oink.

    Seiken has the distinction of attempting to compete in the July 4 1976 bicentennial Nathans hot dog eating contest but was turned away by Max Rosey because he was underage Meanwhile he found out the next day that a 10yr old kid competed and ate 6. True story

    In January of 2015, Team USA (comprised of Molly, Pat, Dave, and Tom, and coached by Todd Greenwald) defeated Team Japan, Team Australia,and Team China. Molly was undefeated against everybody.

    Suzuki Takara (male), Moeno Azuki (female), and Hatsuyo Sugawara (male) are three members of Team Japan.

    Emma Dalton now has dyed her hair dark red/purple. There is at least one other male competitor on Team UK, besides Adam.

    FYI: the TV show emphasizes Japanese competitive eating, which focuses on volume over a long time (like 30 minutes), and not speed. Japanese competitive eating is also polite, so no dunking and food falling from the mouth. Plenty of napkin use.

    Issac [note spelling with 2 s’s] Martin and Cameron Murphy (“Chompamatic”) are visiting the US for food challenges; doing a US food tour. They are not here for the Battle of the Big Eaters. It’s just a coincidence they and Randy Santell and Mitch Dombrowski were in NYC.

    I have confirmed via facebook private link from former Team Australia participants that they were not invited this year.
