    Congrads to you Brian, keep up the good work, continue to refuse to give up, you’re bad ass and original, no one can take that away from you. You never know, if CE gets bigger, you may be the star show. At least to me, you are now.

    A big thankyou to everyone . It would not have been possible without the great fans of competitive eating such as Locust, Badlands, Liz, Rona, Crazy Legs, Hall, Sonya, Juliet, Steak, Pistol Pete, Cookie, Krazy Kev, Shea’s Chip, Toro, Sicilian, the list goes on. If i failed to mention your name please forgive me. Last week i recieved the tragic news that an old pal passed on in 2005. It just so happened he passed on Sept 18 . Three days earlier i just happened to google search his name not thinking i would find anything and came up with a tribute site commemorating his passing. I was like wwwhat???. I just recently found out it was a drug overdose. Although this persons lifestyle deteriorated to the point where he was practically homeless and spent the last days of his life in what one would compare to a crackhouse. He was arrested on numerous occasions and spent a good portion of his later years in drug rehab clinics . Many of you might be wondering . “Brian is claiming his true inspiration was a deceased drug addict?” If you got to know this person he was a truly gifted and talented individual when he wasn’t strung out on drugs . He was an example of wasted talent . Someone that made a bad decision at one point in his life to hang with a bad crowd. This could have easily been me. I managed to distant myself from that type of crowd and for a short period of time i worked for the board of ed counseling teens with the same types of substance addictions. The reason i mention this is due to the fact that most of what you read in my website is due to his inspiration of telling it like it is. Some of the great celebrities in this day and age will attribute their success to little know aquaintance’s that lived on the margins of society. This was a classic example. Its not always an abe lincoln or a MLK that inspires you to greatness. On Oct 21(time and place to be announced) for the first time since 1977 i will pick up the guitar and perform with some of his former bandmembers on stage,(the original project object) some of the old song paradies we collaborated on. If you cant join us , hopefully i will have a video of the concert. Ironically the person that got him into drugs in the late 70’s ended up taking the responibility of burying him.He died penniless . To this day the person that got the death call from police takes full responsibility in ruining his life. Not really the case. When an individual reaches a certain age he or she is fully capable of making their own choices in life. Unfortunatly this story did not have a happy ending. Again thanks to everyone for the kind words.
