Here’s another interview with Pat – a podcast I just posted on “Profiles in Gluttony”:
http://www.7mpictures.com/inside/profilesingluttony.htm
We talk about Pat’s career, his recent wins and losses (including what really happened to him at the tamale contest) and Joey’s historic 50-dog showing in Vegas.

I don’t know where else to write this, but I’d like to state for the record that G Joe is completely full of shit.
Did anyone else read his hypothesis about why people’s totals are increasing?
What a dick.

Ah crap that was a dumb thing to say and I’m sorry. But seriously, Joe, do you really think they’d pull something like that? Do you think a true competitor would proudly accept this amount of adulation for a contest that is a complete sham? Were you even there for any of the qualifiers to make statements like that? I really don’t think anyone is on anything, I don’t think the dogs are smaller, and I think the idea that they’re being prepared better is just dumb. On any given day in any given weather, in any given circumstances, the dogs will be different. Perhaps all of the elements were perfectly aligned for Joey in Vegas, but that shouldn’t be held against him… You cannot put an asterisk next to that number by making your statements.
I’m sorry for calling you a dick, I don’t even know you.

I agree with tubesock. G joe hasn’t eaten in a real contest for years. He can’t accept anything for face. Whenever someone is better or kicks his ass he points to drugs. He made wild accusations about the lefevres. He doesn’t know anything. He makes exuses for why people are so good. Did it ever occur to him that chestnut may have worked his ass off for two months to get to 50 hot dogs? We all know that contest food are usually not fast or good for that matter. Look at the pictures of vegas, it was over 90 F there. He can’t back anything up, it’s all crap.

I just got finished reading GJoes article and I have to say that everything he wrote is complete and utter bullshit. The thought of competitive eaters using drugs is just f*ckin retarded. He doesn’t support this with any evidence, not to mention even a theory on how ANY type of drug would help a competitive eater in his capacity. His thoery on the size of hot dogs is also retarded, what he doesn’t say is that Nathan’s has used the same recipe for their hot dogs for over half a century. And don’t get me started on his idea of hot dogs being prepared better. This might be the most childish excuse for someone eating more than you that I have ever heard. GJoe could never eat close to 50 HDBs, even if they were prepared perfectly. Joey Chestnut has accomplished something few athletes in the sport will ever come close to, and for GJoe to go out and try to besmirch Chestnut’s incredible feat is so classless and low of him. I would’ve never expected this from GJoe, and may I say that he can add one more person to his list of people that have lost complete respect for him. He is a sore loser and could never hold a candle to Joey. Joey, great job. GJoe, go to hell.
