Chowhound Chapman vs. Wing Bowl
Philly.com has an article describing the complaint Arnie “Chowhound” Chapman lodged with the Federal Communications Commission. Chapman claims that his being prevented from competing in the 2005 Wing Bowl after successfully completing his qualifying stunt violates the FCC statute that on-air contests must have fair and consistent rules. A video clip of the Chowhound’s stunt in which he ate 28 clementines is available.
In other Wing Bowl news, the Philadelphia City Paper claims that the 2005 Wing Bowl was probably fixed so that Bill “El Wingador” Simmons could beat Sonya Thomas.

what discussion? One comment from 2005 and that was you. Chapman was a deranged lunatic but he completed his stunt and should have been allowed to compete. BTW the link to article and the stunt are no longer visible on that page

that was not the first time chapman was banned from competing In 2004 he qualified for the Bens matzah ball eating contest but was banned from competing in the finals. George Shea and mle sanctioned the event at the beginning of 2002. Prior to that Ronnie Dragoon the owner of the deli ran the contest as an independant event starting in 1998 . When chapman refused to sign the mle contract he was banned from the finals. Shortly before the contest Chapan burst into the deli like a madman wearing a wool ski cap pointing to George Shea ” This man is a dictator and a deceitful crook i encourage each and everyone of you to join my organization where you can compete wherever and whenever you please . . Meanwhile George Shea did not utter a word and gave Chapman a sinister smile similar to the joker in the batman movie. Then he approached Booker and said ” how bout you big guy slavery is over” Booker had his headphones on paying him no mind. The owner politely pulled Chapman to the side apologized and i believe made him a cash offer with an agreement that he would leave peacefully. Ed Jarvis asked Booker are you going to let him get away with that? Booker replied , if i hit him i go to jail and lose my job. George Shea put his 2 cents into it as well ” he failed to mention i flew him out to vegas to compete in a chilli contest and gave him $100 Chapman later stated on his website that shea did fly him to Vegas but never paid him $100 he promised After that matzah contest the owner decided to drop the contest altogether because he didnt need that tppe of negative aggravation

I thought Chapman sued Wing Bowl and was awarded $4000.
