Coloradan (Donovan Busta?) wins ABQ grilled cheese contest

abqjournal.com for September 25 has a headline (under New Mexico & the West) mentioning that a Coloradan (Donovan Busta in all probability) won Saturday’s goldenpalace.com grilled cheese qualifier at the New Mexico State Fair with 16 sandwiches. Reading the article requires a paid subscription. Levi Oliver was also expected to compete.

ojrifkin, that’s why I enjoy your site. You take the time to find out eating-related info that isn’t available anywhere else. Keep up the good work! It’s much appreciated. By the way I am not an eater, I am just someone who started following the sport this past year. I was hooked when I saw the US Open even though I thought ESPN could have done a much better job.

    Not Busta.

    Albuquerque:

    1. Leland Collins – 16
    2. Levi Oliver- 13.5
    3. Andrew Lane – 12

Andrew Lane is one to watch out for! Quiet and unassuming, but look out! He put down 8 in Denver, and just a few weeks later pulls 12!!
