A most hearty Welcome Back to the great though elusive ojrifkin. I thought that the Helen caper was whacky, hilarious, and a tribute, in a way, to those of us who would love to see more female Black Widows. No wonder so many were disappointed. OJ is clearly in that camp as well and has rallied and is back giving us what we competitive groupies need……our CE fixes. Thanks for being OJ.
A few observations…..some of the nastiest comments are left by people who fully identify themselves. Nasty is not funny and is sometimes cruel, but I respect those who are willing to let their persona be known and identify their own nastiness. Leaving anonymous nasties is reprehensible, but that is only my opinion. Everyone has his or her own ideas of what crosses lines. I howled at SuperPaul Barlow’s comment about the Helen caper and love his Last Supper. Comments are certainly a crazy salad.
If OJ felt stung by Helen, I ask that he think about the countless hours of research and conversation spent in trying to identify The Great CE Oz with no results. To get caught and caught up once is but a blip on the radar screen. There is nothing self-serving about EatFeats except presumably the great pleasure and passion put into this venture. Please keep going. I would say You Go Girl, but that would be an ouch at present.

Bravo!! I think Helen was truly funny, but I was in on the joke – Wild Bill compted at Fry Bread.
I also second what you say about nasty comments. And lately, there seems to be a lot of that going on. I think that this site should be about eating – not about how much trash one can talk about someone else.
ANYHOW – I for one am glad to see Eat Feats back up and running, and am grateful to OJ Rifkin for feeding Wild Bill’s addiction.

I would also like to the OJ for the excellent job. This site does a great job of synthesizing all the CE info on the web and presenting it in a non-partisan format. Even with the occasional abuse, the comments on eatfeats give the CE community a voice and a personality.

What does it mean “Wild Bill competed at frybread”?

I meant “thank OJ”, not “the OJ”.

Lady Lenore, when were you in on the joke?

Anonymous, LadyLenore meant “Wild Bill competed at posole”, and she was aware of Helen’s true identity when I arrived home from that contest on Sunday. Everybody who was at the posole contest was aware; we were asked to keep it quiet, as I believe Tim wanted to use the personae again at Meatballs this weekend. The whole thing was meant as a joke; nobody was to be hurt by it. I also mirror Crazy Leg’s Mom, Lady Lenore, and Anonymous Coward on their compliments to OJ – keep up the good work.
