Crazy Legs Conti on midtown lunches

Crazy Legs Conti was interviewed by Midtown Lunch to promote his midtown lunch today at a watermelon eating contest at Rockefeller center:

Place you discovered thanks to Midtown Lunch: Back to sushi – I relied on Midtown Lunch to give me the rundown on how fast the conveyer belt moved at Sakae Sushi (not fast enough for me) and the crowd at the Todai buffet. Regarding Todai, pickle eating champ Beautiful Brian Seiken is planning an outing to Todai’s plentiful buffet. You need a sizable guy like Beautiful Brian to anchor himself front and center at the sushi bar, then other NYC gurgiators like Nasty Nate Biller and me can form a wedge and really get behind the sneeze guard to take the buffet down. If the head chef isn’t crying into the steam table in an hour, we haven’t done justice to Midtown Lunch!

I will be at the watermelon contest to watch crazy legs and or Tim Janus destroy my 8lb record set in 2004 in Ohio and then wiped out by Jim Reeves the next year with 13lbs. They might have a tough time with the 13lb record even if the time limit is 15min

BB in 15 minutes Tim will eat so much melon it will make your eyes water. Remember, he ate 20 lbs of grits. He will easily eat over 18 lbs of watermelon–maybe close to 20, because watermelon has a lot of liquid (water), and water is heavy–8 lbs per gallon.

Crazy Legs will do well too, but I doubt he will come within a pound or two of the 13 lbs Jim Reeves ate. Legs is a speed eater, not a volume eater.

    Isn’t it just 6 minutes long? ( http://eatfeats.com/query.php?_table=contests&id=1244 )

We’ll find out about that contest length soon. I’ll … er … I mean OJ … will research it and get back to you.

(I’ve just got to screw with their heads OJ … Nowadays, that’s the only context within which I often am able to use that verb. 🙂

I don’t know that there’s any person’s writings, in any walk of life, I’d rather read than those of Crazy Legs.

For any “newbie” out there, if you want to know how to treat others, and have a laugh and a good time on the way to, during, and after a meal, you will never go wrong emulating the Houdini of Cuisini–CLC!

I guess I was wrong. According to the article “…watermelon eating contest at the Ninetendo Store in Rockefeller Center today from Noon to 3pm.” Guess the two of them will be eating for 3 hours. I wonder how much watermelon they could eat in 3 hours…

Great show. IFOCE has results first and rightfully so . Crazy Legs edged out Eater X by a bite in 6 minutes. The MLE game is awesome . Bill Mastiff is a gentleman and a scholar . Real class act . I will post the entire contest and Badlands performance. I was called up at the last minute to perform “let me tell ya” with George Shea so i was unable to get that portion on video. Maybe someone else hopefully videotaped it. No big deal. Great bunch of people with a small buffet to boot.

Brian… it’s nor really a “record” anymore if someone already beat it. Jim Reeves 13lbs of watermelon is the record.

You can’t eat watermelon for 3 hours straight WITHOUT having to visit the bathroom several times.
