“Dale’s Daniel Boone Burger” to be renamed?
Morganton.com has an article about Dale Boone finishing a 3+ pound burger at Doughboys Pizzeria Café in Morganton, NC. After completing the sandwich in under 30 minutes, Dale was allowed to name it “Dale’s Daniel Boone Burger”. The article says that a diner who finishes the burger in less than the 27 minutes it took Dale Boone will receive the right to rename it. The possibility of renaming the burger was not mentioned in the original article about it.

hey people i know i can beat his time by at least 20 minutes or more. Im from the NC and i competed in the Andys challenge this year and ate their 50 ounce burger with fries and drink in 5:35 only to lose to the “Gentleman” by only 20 seconds and that was my first ever event.

If you are talking about the Black and White cookie contest, where Dale cried until Joe was not allowed to compete, yeah, in a way that is beating him.
When was the last time Joe and Dale both competed and Dale beat Joe? 2003?
When was the last time Joe beat Dale? Sept 8, 2007 and before that Aug 5, 2007

Oh, yeah, back in 2002 and 2003. So let’s just say that Sonya Thomas is better than Joey Chestnut then because she was beating him even more recently than that.
Point is, Jabber Jaws is right, Dale can’t touch Joe, in fact he is afraid of Joe, which is why Dale went crying to the sponsors at the Black and White contest. That is probably why you haven’t seen Joe in any of the WLOCE contests yet, because Dale won’t let him compete if it is one he is doing himself.

Here’s my $.02: Though I won’t deny that Joe has a distinct advantage over Dale, one-on-one, that does not undermine Dale’s value as a competitive eater. Given his ostentatious shtick and his gift for gab, Dale is a complete package. I think if you were to ask around more CE fans will recognize Dale before GJoe. And that, in turn, does not take anything away from Joe.
Can’t we all just be “lovey dovey?”

Nice comments everybody and yeah im new to the competitive eating world and all but ive only been in it a few months so i dont know who beat who it doesnt matter to me at all anyway. If i hd time to do more competions which i dont im reduced to one a month cause i have a job which doesnt allow me to. The fact of the matter is i will go to Morganton eat the burger and prove to you so im gonna shut up prove it to u. Good day!!
