Patrick Michels wrote a blog entry for the Dallas Observer about the Wingstop wing eating contest containing a quote from George Shea attributing the discrepancy between total contest purses and claimed total compensation to competitors to endorsements and appearance fees.

Wasn’t it Jim Norton from the Opie and Anthony show that referred to George Shea as a parody of a jerkoff

Really George, weigh the wings before and after to keep it honest? Why don’t you and your cronies start doing that in Buffalo where it gets F**ked up every year because nobody takes control and makes sure it’s done correct.

218,000.00 can you say I.R.S. audit? By the way Anon 4:21- 2003 + 2004 larue was in control of the wings, cooked and weighed before and after. Eaters were quoted as saying they haven’t had as good a wing since.

Clearly Jammin Joe contributed far more than only being an eater in IFOCE. Really too bad that there isn’t a prep/weigh etc. control person. I do not think the sponsors care about that at all, only about promoting their brand.
