I think Molly’s total sets a women’s world record for a 10 minute hot dog eating contest, breaking Miki Sudo’s personal best of 48.5

    Everyone has known Molly can eat over 50 Nathan’s hot dogs and buns in 10 mins. That’s old news.

    The only *asterisk* for these totals are that the hot dogs were likely not 2 ounces/57 grams like Nathans are. if they were 10/1 lb. size, then that would be 5.3 lbs of hot dog (meat). Miki’s 48.5 equates to 6.1 lbs of hot dogs (meat). Very few contests actually use 2oz hotdogs, Nathan’s being the exception rather than “the rule”

    Impressive regardless. I think everyone who has been around long enough know Molly could have the female record if she wanted it.

    There are also hotdog buns that weigh 11 and 13 ounces per 8 pack. The extra ounces add up when you are talking 40+ buns.

    I feel sorry for the sponsors. Molly keeps saying she wasn’t even supposed to be there, and she really didn’t care, so she wasn’t even trying. Even though YOU don’t care, it’s really rude to shit on a sponsor’s event and belittle the people who hosted you.

    @ 8:32pm. How do you know / where did Molly say “she wasn’t even supposed to be there” and that she “really didn’t care”? Was she paid an appearance fee??

    If not, she has no obligation to try her hardest if she didn’t want to. Did she actually “shit on the event” or “belittle the hosts”? If she entered the contest just like all the other participants, with no other agreement between her and the event host/sponsor, then why would she be held to a higher standard? Maybe I’m wrong, but I did not see anywhere that Molly said anything bad about the event or sponsor(s)…

    If Molly went head to head with Miki it would be no contest. Molly has done so many challenges in the 18-20lb range and Miki’s max is maybe 15 pounds. And Miki’s personality is always like someone who would be crying under too much stress whereas Molly will fight to the end. Miki recently made a video training for Nathan’s and she was absolutely dying eating an amount of food that Molly would be completely unfazed by. Whether or not Molly is rude or grumpy about a contest (friendliness and cordiality obviously don’t come naturally to her) she’s an eating machine.

    OJ, I think there’s a difference between a Nathan’s contest and a non-Nathan’s contest and that your headline and story should reflect that distinction. It’s not right to say that anyone broke Miki’s record.

    Molly would not beat Joey. If you asked here this question I can guarantee she’d say the same thing. Maybe she “could” beat him, but she’d have to train specifically to do so and more importantly, she’d have to want to beat him. I don’t think we’ll see her and Joey ever eat hot dogs together in MLE.

    Understand how far ahead of everyone else that Joey is when it comes to hot dogs. Pretty much his entire annual income, mostly from sponsorships, is t because he is the BEST in the world ok July 4. The amount of training and prep that goes into hime eating 75+ hot dogs is insane. I’m f you are not a serious comp. Eater yourself, it’s hard to even comprehend what you need to do to be able to perform at that level every single year for over a decade…

    @7:52 I agree somewhat. OJ didn’t lost that she broke a “sanctioned” event world record though. In order for Mollys 50+ to be comparable to Miki’s totals at Nathan’s, the size and weight of the hot dogs would have to be very similar. My guess is the ones Molly ate were slightly smaller than Nathan’s…

    The hot dogs that Molly ate seem bigger than Nathan’s hot dogs. I wander if Nathan’s are smaller now because of the Chinese Nathan’s ownership. I believe so

    Most elite eaters seem weak mentally. Molly acts like she doesn’t but loves the attention, Miki barely posts, Joey disappears between contests, Geoff barely talks, Nick is so self involved, Dan stopped posting altogether……

    It’s easy to identify anyone’s post if you know them personally. They repeat what they say in conversation or they try to hard to “not get attention”
